Xbox says to expect world premieres, new gameplay, and fresh updates. We know Gears of War: E-Day will get its own dedicated segment, and the Official Xbox Podcast has confirmed that Fable will also show up during the Showcase. Beyond those two, Xbox hasn’t announced a full game list yet.

What Happens After the Main Show?

As soon as the Xbox Games Showcase wraps up, The Coalition takes over for the Gears of War: E-Day Direct. This is a dedicated segment focused entirely on the game. Xbox says it will include new details, gameplay footage, and a deeper look at the story.

Xbox’s announcement described the Direct as a chance to go deeper on “one of the games coming later this year.” The game’s Steam page currently just says “Coming soon,” so no exact release date has been confirmed yet.

What Is Gears of War: E-Day?

E-Day is a prequel to the original Gears of War, set 14 years before the events of the first game. It follows Marcus Fenix and Dom Santiago on the day the Locust Horde first burst out of the ground and attacked humanity. That event, called Emergence Day, is where the game gets its name.

The game is being built in Unreal Engine 5 and will be available on Game Pass from day one.

Captions, Languages, and Accessibility

Xbox has built in a lot of support for this broadcast. Live streams will be available in English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Brazilian Portuguese, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, and Turkish. More subtitle languages will be added after the show.

For accessibility, Xbox is offering English Audio Descriptions, American Sign Language (ASL), and British Sign Language (BSL) versions through its official YouTube and Twitch channels, and through Xbox On.

After the show, Xbox plans to post full recaps on Xbox Wire and will release special Official Xbox Podcast episodes during the week of June 9 to go deeper on the announcements.

The listing drew attention because it was one of the clearest specific retail dates attached to the long-awaited Switch 2 port — but the same page has since changed to show December 31, 2026, raising serious questions about how reliable the original date ever was.

Bandai Namco and Nintendo both continue to list the game with a 2026 release window only. Neither has published an exact date.

What is officially confirmed

Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition is confirmed for Nintendo Switch 2 in 2026. Both Bandai Namco and Nintendo list it on their official pages with a broad 2026 window and no specific date attached.

The package includes the base game and the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion. Nintendo‘s product page lists additional content including new weapons, armour, and Torrent skins. Bandai Namco‘s page says the edition includes the original game, Shadow of the Erdtree, new armor, and customization features for Torrent’s appearance.

The game was originally expected in 2025. FromSoftware confirmed the delay themselves, stating the port was pushed to 2026. From Software said the delay was needed to allow more time for performance adjustments.

Where the July 10 date came from

PNP Games, a Canadian retailer, listed Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition for Switch 2 with an estimated ship date of July 10, 2026. The listing also showed a preorder price of approximately CAD $109.99.

Wccftech, Notebookcheck, and Twisted Voxel all reported on the listing. Wccftech connected it to the earlier performance delay, noting the date could still be a placeholder. Notebookcheck flagged the price point and Game-Key Card concerns alongside its cautious framing of the July window. Twisted Voxel was the most direct, explicitly stating that neither FromSoftware nor Bandai Namco had officially confirmed any launch date.

All three outlets were working from the same retailer listing. None had independent confirmation from the publisher.

The problem: the listing has already changed

The PNP Games page no longer shows July 10. The product listing now displays an estimated ship date of December 31, 2026, while the product information field also reads “Release Date December 31, 2026.” December 31 is commonly treated as a placeholder-style date in retail listings when only a release year is known, so the changed listing makes the July 10 date harder to treat as reliable. Confirmed by official sources: The game is coming to Switch 2 in 2026, includes the base game and Shadow of the Erdtree, and was delayed from 2025 due to performance adjustments acknowledged by FromSoftware.

Unconfirmed: The July 10 date. It came from a single retailer listing that has since changed to a placeholder-style date. No official source has corroborated it.

Treat with caution: The CAD $109.99 price. It appeared on the same retailer listing tied to the July 10 reports. Amazon separately listed the game at $79.99 in April with no release date attached. Until Bandai Namco announces official pricing, both figures should be treated as unofficial.

The only sources that will confirm a real launch date are Bandai Namco, FromSoftware, and Nintendo directly. Then, it gives us a sneak peek of the danger of a bad guy named Kraven and his secret plan. We also see how the game makers imagine a character called Venom. Plus, they give us a preview of how the other characters react to Peter Parker’s connection with Venom.

At the Summer Games Fest 2023, they showed us a 10-minute trailer introducing a part of a new game. In the video, we saw some exciting action scenes and got a sneak peek of the main character, Peter’s cool new powers, which come from Venom.

In September 2021, a trailer was shown at an event for a game called Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. The trailer was about a minute and a half long but showed us quite a bit.

We saw Peter Parker and Miles Morales fighting bad guys in the trailer. This hints that we might be able to control both of these Spider-Man characters in the game.

Towards the end, we were surprised by the sudden appearance of the well-known bad guy from Spider-Man, Venom. He’s an alien creature who likes to be violent. It seems like he will be one of the main bad guys in the next part of the story.

We couldn’t see the actual game being played when the trailer was shown for the first time. But briefly, we saw a picture of Peter with his special robot arms. This hints that his special suit powers might return, which has been confirmed since then.

While watching the trailer, we also hear a scary voice talking. This suggests Peter and Miles must deal with another bad person in the new story.

Spider-Man 2 Limited Edition PS5 Console and Controller

In addition to the story trailer, they showed a special edition of the PS5 game console and a controller called DualSense at Comic Con. These have a cool look with black, red, and white colors. The design reminds us of the powerful and negative effects of the symbiote suit.

The bundle has a new PS5 game console, a DualSense controller, and a digital game voucher. You can also buy the controller alone. If you already have a PS5, you can get special covers for the console instead of buying a whole new one. This way, you don’t have to spend money on a new machine.

You can start ordering the Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 console bundle on July 28, 2023. You can buy it from the PlayStation store or certain shops.

After hinting that a new part of the game Dead by Daylight would have something to do with Aliens, more details about it are out now. This includes information about the recent bad character, the person who survives, where it happens, and when it will come out.

Alien is a famous scary movie series, so it was apparent it would end up in Dead by Daylight with other complex characters like Pinhead from Hellraiser and Sadako from The Ring.

Dead by Daylight: Alien Release Date

Dead by Daylight: Alien will be available on PC on August 29, 2023, via Steam and Epic Games Store, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch.

But people playing on computers can get a sneak peek of the Alien stuff before everyone else. Starting on August 8, 2023, they can try out the Player Test Build (PTB). This particular version lets PC players try the new stuff, and sometimes the powers and abilities get changed based on what players say about it.

Dead by Daylight: Alien DLC Price

Even though it’s not officially confirmed yet, you can probably expect the DBD DLC to cost around the same as the Resident Evil chapter in 2021. That one was priced at $11.99 and included a unique currency called Auric Cells.

It had some cool stuff like a charm, two new survivors, and a killer. It might be cheaper since the Alien DLC has only one new Survivor. We’ll let you know for sure when we find out.

Dead by Daylight New Killer: The Xenomorph

The Xenomorph is one of the scariest bad guys in horror stories. It chases and catches its victims, and its babies burst out from people’s chests without them knowing.

The Xenomorph has been in many video games, like Alien Colonial Marines and Alien Isolation. Now, in a game called The Fog, it’s stuck there by a powerful force called The Entity. This is to show how great it is at hunting.

The Xenomorph Perks & Powers

The Xenomorph has a unique ability called Hidden Pursuit, which has a few parts. It can secretly move around the game map, go undetected, and attack from afar. Using this ability, it can move through tunnels in Runner Mode and come out of Control Stations.

In Runner Mode, it’s harder for survivors to hear it coming (no heartbeat sound), and it can hit survivors with its tail from far away. Survivors can fight against the Xenomorph by finding and using Remote Flame Turrets.

These turrets shoot fire at the Xenomorph like a flamethrower. If the Xenomorph gets hit by the turret, it loses its unique ability for a while. But be careful; the Xenomorph can break the turrets.

In addition to its remarkable ability, the Xenomorph has three unique skills: Alien Instinct, Rapid Brutality, and Ultimate Weapon. Remember that these skill descriptions are based on test notes and might change when they officially release.

Dead by Daylight New Survivor: Ellen Ripley

Ellen Ripley may be one of the most well-known “final girls” in scary movie history. She’s the only one who makes it out alive in the first Alien movie and keeps being the main character in the series until Alien: Resurrection.

After surviving her first encounter with the scary Xenomorph creature, Ripley keeps facing it in later movies, and now it even chases her in The Fog.

Even though Ellen Ripley doesn’t look precisely like Sigourney Weaver, she has unique things about her, like how she talks. And sometimes, you might even see a cat with her.

Like when they bring a new Survivor to the game, Ellen Ripley will have three special abilities. These abilities are called Chemical Trap, Light Footed, and Lucky Star.

Just remember that the descriptions of these abilities are taken from the PTB Patch Notes and might be different when the update comes out.

Nostromo Wreckage Map in Dead by Daylight

The new map in Dead by Daylight with the Alien Chapter is called the Nostromo Wreckage. Instead of just being inside the Nostromo ship, it’s now a crash site outside with the Nostromo as part of the scenery.

As a survivor, you’ll need to find your way through burning debris and some familiar scenes from the Alien movie, like the android on a big round table that caused problems.

If you manage to power up enough Generators, there might be some surprises to help you fight back. Unlike space, everyone can hear you scream in this strange world called the Realm of the Entity.
