GTA 6 Standard Vs Ultimate Edition: Prices, Rewards And How To Pre-Order

The long wait is finally over, as Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6) pre-orders officially open at midnight local time on June 25, 2026. Rockstar has revealed all important details, including editions, prices, bonuses and release details.

GTA 6 will be launched on November 19, 2026, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Rockstar has not announced early access for any edition, which means all players can start playing on the same day, no matter which version they purchase.

    How To Pre-Order GTA 6?

GTA 6 Standard Vs Ultimate Edition

As revealed earlier, GTA 6 pre-orders will be available in supported regions on June 25. Players can pre-order the game through the Rockstar Store, PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store, Amazon, Best Buy and GameStop. Availability may vary by region.

In order to pre-order GTA 6, search for the game on your preferred platform or store. While the Standard Edition is available in both physical and digital versions, the Ultimate Edition is only available digitally.

Digital pre-loading starts on November 12, 2026, a week before launch. Physical code-in-box versions will also be available from that date, which will include a download code rather than a game disc.

The PC version hasn’t been confirmed yet.

GTA 6 Editions, Price And Bonus Rewards

GTA 6 comes in two editions: Standard and Ultimate.

The Standard Edition costs $79.99 and includes the full GTA 6 game, set in Vice City and across the state of Leonida. Pre-orders and purchases before November 20, 2026 include the Vintage Vice City Pack, which comes with a ’55 Vapid Stanier Sedan and Garage, outfits and hairstyles, and an exclusive weapon pattern. Digital pre-orders/purchases of either edition before November 20, 2026 include one month of GTA+.

Vintage Vice City Pack bonuses apply to both Standard and Ultimate Editions.

The Ultimate Edition costs $99.99 and includes extra content such as the ’95 Grotti Cheetah, Hawk & Little Morgan Revolvers, personalized weapon variants, Vice City Styles, Jason’s Safehouse Vehicles, the Shitzu Squalo, the ’67 Vapid Dominator Buggy and Garage, Goodtime Gear, and other exclusive content. Players also get access to exclusive in-game shops, including Rideout Customs and Sara’s Unisex Salon.

These rewards become available as players move through Jason and Lucia’s story, rather than all at once. This edition is only available as a digital purchase.

Players who buy the Standard Edition can purchase the Ultimate Edition Upgrade separately at any time. Physical Standard Edition owners can upgrade after redeeming their digital download code.

    GTA 6 Pre-Order Bonus

Players who pre-order or purchase GTA 6 before November 20, 2026 will receive the Vintage Vice City Pack, which includes a ’55 Vapid Stanier Sedan and Garage, outfits and hairstyles, and an exclusive weapon pattern.

  • GTA 6 Pre-Orders Open June 25, Rockstar Reveals Cover Art

GTA 6 Pre-Orders Open June 25, Rockstar Reveals Cover Art

Rockstar Games confirmed Thursday that pre-orders for Grand Theft Auto VI will open June 25, ending months of unconfirmed retailer leaks and speculation. The announcement, confirmed in an official Rockstar Newswire post, included the game’s first official cover art and a short clip of Vice City.

The post read: “Pre-orders for Grand Theft Auto VI will officially begin on June 25 on digital storefronts and at other select retailers.”

Pricing, editions and pre-order bonuses remain unannounced and are expected to be clarified when pre-orders open. Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick reaffirmed the November 19 release date last month, and Thursday’s announcement is the clearest signal yet that the date will hold.

    Cover Art

The artwork follows the illustrated panel style Rockstar has used on every mainline Grand Theft Auto cover since 2001. Protagonists Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos sit at the center of the cover, framed by surrounding panels depicting motorcycles, sports cars, a speedboat, a heavily armed helicopter, supporting characters Boobie Ike and Raul Bautista, palm trees, an alligator and the Vice City skyline. A helicopter sits in the top-left corner, a detail present on nearly every GTA cover since the franchise began the tradition 25 years ago.

    gta 6 cover art

The cover art is available as a free download from Rockstar’s website.

    New Footage

Rockstar also added a short clip of Vice City to its website — the first new footage since Trailer 2 released in May 2025. No new full trailer was released alongside the announcement. A new trailer could follow once marketing ramps up further, though Rockstar has not announced a date.

    Price Still Unknown

As of Friday, Rockstar has not disclosed a price. Analysts have estimated a standard edition between $70 and $80. Zelnick has only said publicly that the company aims to “charge way, way less” than the value it delivers, without naming a figure.

    The Road to This Announcement

Thursday’s reveal follows months of false starts. A Best Buy affiliate email reported in May pointed to a May 18 pre-order window that never materialized. That speculation was confirmed to be another false alarm after Zelnick addressed it, saying he was uncertain where the rumor originated and noting that pre-orders typically begin alongside marketing campaigns. Thursday’s announcement, by contrast, came directly from Rockstar’s own verified channels with a specific date attached.

    Inflated Unofficial Listings Circulating

Third-party resale sites have listed unofficial GTA 6 “pre-orders” at inflated prices, despite no legitimate pre-order channel being open yet. Rockstar has not authorized any pre-order through resale marketplaces. Official pre-orders are expected to open through digital storefronts and select retailers starting June 25, as stated in Rockstar’s announcement.

    Platforms

GTA 6 launches November 19, 2026, on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S only. No PC version has been announced. Zelnick has said Rockstar’s console-first approach reflects the studio’s focus on serving its core console audience before PC players. Players still on PS4 will need to upgrade to PS5 before launch, as there is no PS4 version planned.

  • Take-Two CEO Reaffirms GTA 6 for November 19, 2026 as Marketing Set for Summer

Take-Two CEO Reaffirms GTA 6 for November 19, 2026 as Marketing Set for Summer

Grand Theft Auto VI is currently scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026, on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. That was reaffirmed yesterday during Take-Two Interactive’s Q4 fiscal year 2026 earnings call. Take-Two included the date in its official investor materials and future release lineup, with the company’s initial FY2027 outlook listing Net Bookings of $8.0 to $8.2 billion and GAAP net revenue expected between $7.9 and $8.1 billion. That said, the filing includes standard forward-looking-statement warnings, and actual outcomes may vary, including risks around timely game releases.

Zelnick was deliberate about the tone he set with investors. “I think reiterating November 19 as a launch day today is probably a positive,” he said, framing the reaffirmation as a market signal rather than a routine update. He also reported that Take-Two’s fiscal 2026 performance was “exceptional and exceeded initial expectations at every label,” closing the year with $6.72 billion in net bookings.

    Strauss Zelnick Take-Two Interactive CEO

Take-Two has reaffirmed the November 19, 2026 release date, which Rockstar also lists on its official GTA VI page. No new delay has been announced. Insider Gaming has called the delay rumors circulating on social media ragebait with no factual basis, and Zelnick told Variety directly that the game will ship on November 19.

    The Delay History

Publicly, GTA VI has been delayed twice. The first delay came in May 2025, moving the game from its original 2025 window to May 26, 2026. The second came in November 2025, pushing it again to the current November 19 date. Rockstar cited the need for additional polish time on both occasions. In a separate interview, Zelnick said GTA VI was about “18 months behind the original date,” which has led some observers to speculate about an earlier internal target, though this has not been officially confirmed.

    Platforms

GTA VI is currently announced only for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S at launch, with no PC version confirmed. Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has explained why the game is launching on consoles first, and Rockstar’s official page lists only PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Based on Rockstar’s historical pattern with GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2, a PC release is expected 12 to 18 months after the console launch, likely sometime in 2027 or 2028.

PlayStation is already telling PS4 players to upgrade to PS5 ahead of GTA 6, sending emails and console messages to select users urging them to make the switch before the November launch. That kind of coordinated, platform-level messaging does not happen without a firm plan behind it.

    Price and Pre-Orders

No official GTA VI price has been announced. Some analysts have argued for an $80 price point, but that remains speculation. Zelnick has discussed pricing philosophy in general terms, describing the eventual price as “reasonable” and consistent with the current AAA market, but has not stated a specific figure for GTA 6. A Dutch retailer listed the game at 99 euros, which is also an unconfirmed placeholder. Zelnick confirmed that pricing will not be revealed through earnings calls.

On the pre-order front, a Best Buy email earlier this month reportedly leaked a GTA 6 pre-order date, pointing to May 18 as the date pre-orders would go live. They never did. As expected, the GTA 6 pre-order rumors turned out to be another false alarm, with Zelnick addressing the situation directly and calling it an error. Pre-orders are not open. Wait for Rockstar’s official Newswire before committing to anything.

Sales Context: Why the Stakes Are This High

    Take-Two’s FY2027 Guidance slide from the Q4 FY2026 earnings presentation, May 21, 2026. Source: Take-Two Investor Relations.

To understand the weight behind Zelnick’s confidence, consider what Take-Two is building on. The earnings call confirmed that GTA V has now sold close to 230 million units worldwide since its 2013 release. Red Dead Redemption 2 has also remained one of the best-selling games ever, further raising expectations for Rockstar’s next release. GTA VI follows both as Rockstar’s two biggest modern commercial successes. The pressure to deliver is not just a fan expectation; it is the foundation of an $8 billion financial outlook.

Take-Two has said Rockstar expects GTA VI marketing to begin in summer 2026. What that brings with it, whether a new trailer, pre-orders, pricing, or gameplay reveals, has not been confirmed. On the call, Take-Two said Rockstar will share GTA-series details when ready. Summer marketing could bring more information, but Rockstar has not committed to the next trailer, pre-orders, pricing, editions, gameplay reveals, or GTA Online plans on any specific schedule.

For now, the game is six months away. The only reliable sources are Rockstar’s official Newswire and Take-Two’s investor communications. Everything else is speculation.

  • GTA 6 Pre-Order Rumors Look Like Another False Alarm After Best Buy Email Speculation

GTA 6 Pre-Order Rumors Look Like Another False Alarm After Best Buy Email Speculation

GTA 6 pre-orders still have not gone live, despite a wave of speculation that Rockstar Games would open orders on May 18. The rumor started after a reported Best Buy affiliate email appeared to point to a short GTA 6 physical pre-order campaign running from May 18 to May 21, but Rockstar has not confirmed any pre-order date, and by midday ET on May 18, there was nothing to show for it.

At the time of writing, Rockstar’s official GTA 6 page lists the game as coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19, 2026, with a “Wishlist Now” link and trailers. What it does not have is a pre-order button, pricing, edition details, or any bonus content. The PlayStation Store page shows the game as “Announced” with an “Add to Wishlist” option, not a purchase option.

Zelnick addressed the Best Buy situation directly during Take-Two’s Q4 earnings call on May 21, reaffirming the November 19 date and confirming no pre-orders are open.

    GTA 6 No Pre-order PS5

If you spent part of May 18 refreshing Best Buy’s website waiting for something to happen, you were not alone, but the evidence behind this rumor was always thinner than the hype suggested.

The Rumor Started With Two Things, and Neither One Is Solid

The speculation had two pillars, and neither one holds up well under scrutiny.

The first was a reported Best Buy affiliate email that allegedly pointed to a GTA 6 physical pre-order campaign running between May 18 and May 21. TechRadar reported on the email, but this was never a public announcement from Rockstar or Best Buy. We covered the full details of what that Best Buy email actually said and what it was pointing to when it first surfaced, and even then, the sourcing was thin. No confirmed pre-order listing with official pricing, editions, or bonus details went live through Rockstar’s official channels or the major console storefronts. The email was reported, not confirmed, and the distinction matters.

    GTA 6 Official Release date

The second pillar was a “cta_preorder” code spotted in the source of Rockstar’s official GTA 6 website. This one spread fast because it felt like inside information, a developer leaving a trail before a big announcement. But GamesRadar found that Wayback Machine archives show the same code had been sitting in that page since at least 2024. It was not new. It was not a fresh breadcrumb. It was infrastructure that has been there for over a year, waiting for whenever Rockstar actually decides to flip the switch.

Put those two things together, an unverified affiliate email and a years-old code snippet, and the foundation of the May 18 rumor becomes clear. It was speculation built on weak evidence, amplified by a community that is understandably starving for any GTA 6 news.

So Why Did So Many People Think May 18 Was Genuinely Happening?

Part of what gave this rumor traction was the timing. Take-Two Interactive, Rockstar’s parent company, has its fiscal Q4 and full-year FY2026 earnings call scheduled for May 21, 2026. The alleged Best Buy affiliate campaign window reportedly ended on the same day. That coincidence was enough to build a theory: pre-orders open May 18, run through the earnings call on May 21, Rockstar announces them alongside a potential Trailer 3.

It is a neat narrative. It is also entirely speculative. Earnings calls are not game launch events, and Take-Two has not signaled that any GTA 6 pre-order announcement is tied to that call. Take-Two’s CEO has already explained why GTA 6 is launching on consoles before PC, and none of that reasoning involves timing announcements around earnings calls. The May 21 date showing up in an unverified affiliate email is not evidence that Rockstar planned anything around it.

GameSpot reported that hopes of May 18 pre-orders “reached a dead end,” and Tom’s Guide found no signs of live pre-orders anywhere by midday ET. The window the rumor was built around came and went without anything materialising.

Here Is What Is Actually Confirmed, and What Is Not

Cutting through the noise, here is the state of GTA 6 as of today:

The release date is confirmed: Rockstar lists November 19, 2026 on the official GTA VI page for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. That date has not moved.

PC is not announced: Rockstar has confirmed only PS5 and Xbox Series X|S at launch. A PC release has not been announced, and speculating one into existence does not make it real. Sony has been nudging PS4 players toward upgrading to PS5 ahead of GTA 6’s launch, which underlines how firmly the game is tied to the current console generation. If you are still on PS4 and weighing whether the upgrade makes sense before November, that decision is worth thinking through sooner rather than later.

Official GTA 6 pre-orders do not appear to be live through Rockstar, PlayStation, or Xbox: The PlayStation Store shows “Announced” and “Add to Wishlist.” No confirmed major retailer listing with official pricing, editions, or bonus content has been publicly announced by Rockstar.

Pricing, editions, and pre-order bonuses are unknown: Rockstar has announced none of this. Take-Two has signaled the game will likely land in the $70 to $80 range rather than hitting $100, but that is as specific as official comment has gotten. Anyone writing about what the Collector’s Edition will include or what the pre-order bonus will be is making it up.

Trailer 3 has not been announced: The connection between pre-orders and a third trailer is pure speculation. Rockstar has not announced Trailer 3 or tied any new trailer to pre-orders.

Rockstar Does Not Drop News Through Affiliate Emails. Here Is How It Actually Works.

Rockstar is not a studio that telegraphs its moves through affiliate emails and website code. When GTA Online launched, when Red Dead Redemption 2 went up for pre-order, when GTA 6 Trailer 1 dropped, these things happened when Rockstar decided they would, announced through Rockstar’s own channels, without a week of affiliate-email preamble.

The November 19, 2026 release date is six months away. With the game now six months from release, fans have a reasonable reason to watch for pre-order news, but no date is confirmed. That is the legitimate reason to pay attention. Not because a Best Buy affiliate email said May 18, but because the calendar says that if Rockstar is going to give retailers enough runway before a November launch, something needs to happen in the next few weeks.

But “the timing makes sense” is not the same as “it is happening on this specific date.” Rockstar will open pre-orders when Rockstar opens pre-orders, and the announcement will come from Rockstar’s social channels, the official GTA 6 website, and major retail pages not from a leaked affiliate email that nobody at Rockstar or Best Buy confirmed.

When Pre-Orders Do Go Live, You Will Know Immediately

When GTA 6 pre-orders do open, the signals will be unambiguous:

The Rockstar Newswire will post an official announcement. The GTA 6 page will update with a pre-order button, pricing, and edition details. The PlayStation Store, Xbox Store, and major retailers would likely follow with official listings. A new trailer could accompany the rollout, but Rockstar has not announced one.

None of those things happened on May 18. Until they do, treat any specific date claim without an official source the same way you would treat the last five GTA 6 pre-order date rumors: with skepticism, not excitement.

The November 19, 2026 release date is real. Everything else, until Rockstar says it, is not.

  • GTA 6 Pre-Order Date Reportedly Leaks Through Best Buy Email

GTA 6 Pre-Order Date Reportedly Leaks Through Best Buy Email

A reported Best Buy affiliate email has sparked fresh GTA 6 pre-order speculation after referencing a physical pre-order campaign running from May 18 to May 21, 2026. Insider Gaming reported that it received the email from two independent affiliates, while 9to5Toys separately reported that it also received the same message. Rockstar Games, however, has not officially announced a GTA 6 pre-order date — the game’s official page still only offers wishlist links for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, with no “Pre-order Now” button in sight.

Zelnick later confirmed at the Q4 earnings call on May 21 that pre-orders have not opened and called the Best Buy email an error.

What the Best Buy Email Reportedly Said

The leaked email, circulating among Best Buy affiliates, specifically references “GTA 6 Pre Order (Physical Game)” as a featured promotional item. The campaign window runs May 18 through May 21, 2026, with affiliates reportedly offered a 5% commission on qualifying pre-order purchases.

Insider Gaming reported that it received the email forwarded from two independent affiliates — and noted those emails originated from Impact, the affiliate platform used by Best Buy’s creator and publisher program. 9to5Toys separately reported receiving the same email, bringing a second outlet into the verification chain.

GTA 6 pre order date Raul

Affiliate campaigns like this are usually prepared ahead of retail promotions, which is why the email carries more weight than a random social media rumor. Best Buy’s affiliate program is a structured creator and publisher channel with commission links, tracking, promotions, and Impact dashboard support. Still, the email does not amount to an official announcement from Rockstar, Take-Two, or Best Buy, and it could still reflect an early setup, placeholder, or retail-side mistake. The email may suggest that retail partners are preparing for a scheduled pre-order window, but it does not prove Rockstar has publicly locked the date.

Has Rockstar Confirmed GTA 6 Pre-Orders?

No. As of this writing, Rockstar’s official GTA 6 page lists the game’s November 19, 2026 release date for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, along with previously released trailers and a wishlist option. There is no pre-order button, no announced pre-order date, and no statement from Rockstar or parent company Take-Two Interactive addressing the Best Buy email.

The editorial distinction matters: this is a reported, partially verified leak — not an official announcement. Characterizing it as confirmed would be factually inaccurate based on the available evidence.

Why Fans Think Trailer 3 Could Be Close

The May 18 date has also fueled fan speculation that Rockstar could release Trailer 3 around the same window, but no official trailer date has been announced.

The timing adds circumstantial weight to that theory. Take-Two Interactive has officially confirmed its Q4 and full fiscal year 2026 earnings call for May 21, 2026, at 4:30 p.m. ET. If pre-orders are live by then, the call could become the first investor-facing moment where Take-Two is asked about Rockstar’s rollout, even though Rockstar has not publicly signaled that sequence.

That said, no Trailer 3 date has been announced by Rockstar. No executive has teased it publicly. The connection between the pre-order window and a potential trailer drop is fan inference layered on top of an already-unconfirmed pre-order date — plausible speculation, not a secondary leak.

What Is Officially Confirmed About GTA 6

Separating confirmed facts from circulating speculation:

    Detail Status
Release date: November 19, 2026 Confirmed — listed on Rockstar’s official GTA 6 page
Platforms: PS5 and Xbox Series X|S Confirmed — stated officially by Rockstar
Pre-order start date: May 18, 2026 Leaked / partially verified — sourced from Best Buy affiliate email; not confirmed by Rockstar
Best Buy affiliate email Partially verified — multiple outlets report receiving or verifying the same affiliate email
Trailer 3 releasing with pre-orders Unverified — fan speculation; no official announcement exists
GTA 6 retail price Unverified — Rockstar has not announced pricing; Take-Two comments have only pointed to broader premium-game pricing context, not a confirmed GTA 6 price

PC availability has also not been announced for launch. The official page only references console platforms — and Take-Two’s CEO has explained why GTA 6 is launching on consoles first.

    What Happens Next

If the May 18 date holds, GTA 6 pre-orders would open roughly six months before the game’s November 19 release. That would give retailers and Take-Two several months of pre-release sales activity before launch.

The May 21 Take-Two earnings call is the next major date to watch. If pre-orders are live by then, the call could become the first investor-facing moment where Take-Two is asked about Rockstar’s rollout. If nothing happens on May 18, the Best Buy email will likely be remembered as an early setup, placeholder, or retail-side mistake rather than a confirmed pre-order leak.

Until Rockstar updates its official page from “Wishlist Now” to “Pre-order Now,” the May 18 date remains a credible retailer-adjacent leak — strong enough to report carefully, but not official enough to treat as settled.

  • GTA Vice City Not Launching on PC? Fix No Error, Black Screen, and Loading Issues

GTA Vice City Not Launching on PC? Fix No Error, Black Screen, and Loading Issues

Classic GTA Vice City fails silently on Windows 10/11 — no crash dialog, no error message — because it was built for Windows 98/XP-era systems. The causes are compatibility mode mismatches, display initialization failure, Data Execution Prevention (DEP), or a corrupted settings file. None of these require reinstalling. Work through the fixes below in order.

    Which Version Do You Have?

This matters before applying any fix.

Classic GTA Vice City — runs via gta-vc.exe. Every fix in this guide applies to this version.

GTA Vice City – The Definitive Edition — a separate modern release with different requirements: Windows 10 64-bit, GTX 760 or R9 280-class GPU, 8GB RAM, 45GB storage, DirectX, Chromium, Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1, and a Rockstar account. None of the classic fixes below apply to it, and SilentPatch explicitly does not support it.

Check your Steam Library or Rockstar Launcher for the exact title before proceeding.

Fix 1: Launch gta-vc.exe Directly From the Install Folder

Steam can invoke the executable incorrectly and fail without surfacing any error. This bypasses that entirely.

    Steam default path:

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Grand Theft Auto Vice City\

Rockstar Launcher: navigate to whichever install path you chose during setup.

Find gta-vc.exe and double-click it directly. If the game opens this way, the issue is likely with Steam’s launch path or with compatibility settings not being applied through Steam.

Fix 2: Set gta-vc.exe to Compatibility Mode

Right-click gta-vc.exePropertiesCompatibility → check “Run this program in compatibility mode for:”

Test these in order, applying and relaunching after each:

GTA Vice City Not Launching on PC? Fix No Error, Black Screen, and Loading Issues

    1. Windows 8
    2. Windows XP (Service Pack 3)
    3. Windows 98 / Windows Me

Windows XP SP3 and Windows 98/Me are both worth testing. Different installs behave differently, especially between Steam and older disc versions.

Fix 3: Enable 640×480 Resolution Once to Clear Display Initialization

Vice City silently aborts startup when it cannot resolve a valid display mode. Setting it to 640×480 forces the lowest safe mode and lets it get past that block.

    1. Right-click gta-vc.exePropertiesCompatibility
    2. Check “Run in 640 × 480 screen resolution”
    3. Apply → Launch the game
    4. Once inside, return and uncheck this option

This is a one-time initialization workaround, not a permanent display setting.

Fix 4: Rename the Settings File

Vice City stores display and control settings in gta_vc.set. If this file was written under a different Windows version or display configuration, the game can refuse to open silently rather than reporting an error.

    File location:

    Documents\GTA Vice City User Files\gta_vc.set

GTA Vice City Not Launching on PC? Fix No Error, Black Screen, and Loading Issues

Rename it to gta_vc_old.set. The game recreates a clean file on next launch. If this resolves the issue, the original file was corrupted and can be deleted.

Fix 5: Black Screen When Loading a Saved Game

If GTA Vice City opens but turns black when you load a saved game, the problem is different from a silent startup failure. Rockstar says this can happen when cheats were used and active while saving. Their official workaround is to delete gta_vc.set from Documents\GTA Vice City User Files, launch the game, and start a new game before loading anything else. If the saved file itself was damaged by cheat codes usage, resetting the settings file may not recover that save.

Fix 6: Resolve the DEP Conflict — Exception or SilentPatch

Windows Data Execution Prevention (DEP) can terminate Vice City at startup without producing any visible error, particularly when DEP is configured to cover all programs. Two ways to resolve it:

Option A: Add a DEP Exception

    1. Control PanelSystemAdvanced system settings
    2. Under PerformanceSettingsData Execution Prevention tab
    3. Select “Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select”
    4. Click Add → navigate to gta-vc.exe
    5. Apply → Restart

GTA Vice City Not Launching on PC? Fix No Error, Black Screen, and Loading Issues

Do not disable DEP system-wide. Add only the game executable as an exception.

Option B: SilentPatch + DDraw Component

SilentPatch is the strongest community fix for the classic PC version on Windows 10/11. It removes Vice City’s dependency on legacy DirectPlay components, improves compatibility with Windows 8 and newer, and prevents startup crashes when DEP is enabled for all applications. The separate DDraw Component helps with DirectDraw rendering on modern systems. Install both only on the classic PC version by placing the files in the game’s root folder next to gta-vc.exe. SilentPatch does not support GTA Vice City – The Definitive Edition.

    Fix 7: Verify Game Files

Corrupted or incomplete game files cause silent launch failures. Run verification before considering a reinstall.

Steam: Library → Right-click Grand Theft Auto: Vice CityPropertiesInstalled FilesVerify integrity of game files

Rockstar Launcher: Settings → My Installed Games → Vice City → Verify Integrity

GTA Vice City Not Launching on PC? Fix No Error, Black Screen, and Loading Issues

Verification replaces only the files that fail the check. Saves and settings are not affected.

Rockstar Games Launcher: The Verify Integrity option is only available for copies purchased directly through the Rockstar Games Launcher. If you own classic GTA Vice City on Steam, use the Steam method above.

Fix 8: Reinstall — Back Up Saves First

If verification finds nothing and the game still does not launch, a clean reinstall is the last step.

Before uninstalling, back up your saves:

    Documents\GTA Vice City User Files

Copy this entire folder to a separate location. After reinstalling, paste it back. Your saves will be intact.

    What Not to Do

    Action Why it’s wrong
Download missing DLL files from third-party sites Unsafe and unnecessary. Steam and Rockstar file verification handle legitimate missing files.
Treat GPU driver updates as the primary fix Driver updates may help display problems, but they are not the main fix for compatibility, DEP, or settings-file failures.
Apply the old Rockstar Vice City patch by default Rockstar says the patch targets a specific graphical corruption issue, and users without that issue do not need it.
Use SilentPatch on the Definitive Edition SilentPatch’s documentation says the Definitive Edition is not supported.
Treat this as a new bug This is a long-running classic-game compatibility problem, not a recent broken update.
  • Take-Two CEO Explains Why GTA 6 Is Launching on Consoles First

Take-Two CEO Explains Why GTA 6 Is Launching on Consoles First

Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has explained why Grand Theft Auto VI is launching on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S first, with no PC version currently announced.

Speaking to Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier at iicon in Las Vegas, Zelnick said Rockstar is following its long-running console-first pattern because the studio wants to serve its “core consumer” first. The interview took place on April 28 and was widely reported by gaming outlets on May 4.

    “Serving the core consumer”

When asked why GTA 6 isn’t getting a same-day PC release, Zelnick was direct.

“Rockstar always starts on console because I think with regard to a release like that you’re judged by serving the core,” he said. “Like really serving the core consumer. If your core consumer isn’t there, if they’re not served first and best, you kind of don’t hit your other consumers.”

Take-Two has since reaffirmed the November 19 console launch during its Q4 earnings call. Here is everything Zelnick said at the earnings call about the release date, delay history, pricing, and summer marketing.

In short: Rockstar still sees console players as the primary audience for a Grand Theft Auto launch.

Not because of a PlayStation marketing deal, Zelnick says

    GTA VI delay rumor
    GTA 6

For years, fans have speculated that a PlayStation marketing deal was the real reason behind Rockstar’s console-first approach. Schreier put that theory to Zelnick directly.

“No,” Zelnick said. “I mean, historically Rockstar’s gone to console first.”

Zelnick acknowledged a PlayStation marketing deal, but said it was not the reason for the PC delay. The game is still launching on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S the same day. Earlier he also debunked the GTA VI Delay Rumors.

The PC numbers complicate the reasoning

The “core consumer” framing has drawn pushback because Zelnick himself made clear how big PC has become.

When he joined Take-Two in 2007, PC accounted for around 5% of NBA 2K sales. Today, he said, a big title can pull 45% to 50% of its sales from PC.

He framed the console-first approach as something specific to Rockstar, not a company-wide policy. Take-Two’s other studios, like 2K, regularly ship to PC and console at the same time.

    Rockstar’s history fits the pattern

Whether the reasoning convinces fans or not, Rockstar’s track record matches it.

GTA 5 launched on PS3 and Xbox 360 in September 2013. The PC version didn’t arrive until April 2015 — roughly 18 months later.

Red Dead Redemption 2 made PC players wait about a year. The original Red Dead Redemption took 14 years to reach PC. Even GTA 5’s “expanded and enhanced” PS5 and Xbox Series version, released in March 2022, didn’t reach PC until March 2025.

    A second sales cycle?

Zelnick hinted that the staggered approach may also serve a business purpose.

He noted that releasing on PC after console could create a second selling cycle, with some players possibly buying the game twice. “We’ll see how it works out,” he said.

Alleged leaked GTA Online figures, which Rockstar has not publicly verified, suggest the gap between platforms is real for Rockstar specifically. PS5 reportedly leads with around 3.4 million weekly players and about $4.4 million in weekly revenue, while PC trails with under 900,000 players and roughly $264,000 in weekly bookings.

What it means for PC players

Rockstar has not announced a PC version of GTA 6. There is no PC release date and no PC announcement.

Based on Rockstar’s past release pattern, a later PC version would not be surprising, but no timing or upgrade details have been announced.

For now, GTA 6 launches November 19, 2026, on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

The official GTA VI page is live at rockstargames.com/VI with Trailer 2 and wish-listing now active for both platforms.

In its Q3 2026 earnings statement, Take-Two said: “Our execution throughout Fiscal 2026 has been extraordinary and we are highly confident as we approach Fiscal 2027 — led by the November 19th release of Grand Theft Auto VI, with Rockstar’s launch marketing set to begin this Summer.” Speaking separately to IGN, CEO Strauss Zelnick said: “I feel good about it. Very good about it… any time you’re getting closer to marketing beats, you’re obviously in a place where your confidence level is as high as it can be.” (Quote reported by Kotaku from Zelnick’s IGN interview, February 3, 2026.)

GTA VI delay rumor: where it came from

    GTA VI delay rumor
    GTA 6

A UK celebrity gossip site claimed GTA VI was going to be delayed because the game’s saving and loading feature was broken and had not been built into it. Large social media accounts amplified the claim without evidence.

Veteran Kotaku journalist Zack Zwiezen — who accurately reported Rockstar’s development challenges ahead of the 2025 delay — spoke with a source close to development and reported the claim has no merit. To be precise: this was not an official Rockstar statement. Zwiezen confirmed from sources that GTA VI will have saving and loading as players would expect. Rockstar did not issue a separate public comment addressing the rumor directly.

Confirmed: Rockstar has not issued a delay announcement. The November 19, 2026 date remains the official release date as of April 24, 2026.

    GTA VI delay history

GTA VI has been delayed twice from its original window. The first GTA VI delay, announced May 2, 2025, moved the game from Fall 2025 to May 26, 2026. The second GTA VI delay, announced November 6, 2025, moved it again to November 19, 2026. On both occasions Rockstar said the extra time was needed to finish the game with the level of polish fans expect. That is the extent of the company’s public explanation.

GTA VI Trailer 2: what has been shown

Rockstar confirmed on social media that Grand Theft Auto VI Trailer 2 was captured entirely in-game from a PlayStation 5, comprising equal parts gameplay and cutscenes. Rockstar reiterated this following some viewers’ doubts given the trailer’s high graphical fidelity. Alongside the trailer, Rockstar updated the official GTA VI site with screenshots and character and location descriptions — the full set is viewable at rockstar games GTA VI Official page.

GTA VI data breach — April 2026

A hacker group called ShinyHunters claimed to have breached Rockstar Games via Anodot, a cloud-cost monitoring tool, and threatened to release stolen data unless a ransom was paid by April 14.

Rockstar confirmed the breach in a statement to multiple outlets: “We can confirm that a limited amount of non-material company information was accessed in connection with a third-party data breach. This incident has no impact on our organization or our players.” ShinyHunters subsequently confirmed it would release the stolen data after its demands were not met.

The hackers claimed to have accessed financial data, player spending habits, marketing timelines, and contracts with outsourcing companies. No player passwords or credentials were included in what the group publicly claimed to have taken — though Reuters noted at the time it could not independently verify the full leaked dataset.

GTA VI leaked data: what it showed

Rather than game assets or source code, the mid-April data dump contained business metrics from Anodot. According to reports based on the alleged leaked data, GTA Online has been generating approximately $1.3 million USD per day over the preceding six months. Neither Rockstar nor Take-Two has publicly commented on those figures or connected them to development decisions.

What remains uncertain about GTA VI

Earlier in 2026, Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier reported that GTA VI was not yet “content complete” as of his last information, which left some uncertainty around the GTA VI timeline — though later reporting also noted the November 2026 date felt “more real” than before, not less. No PC release date has been announced. Zelnick himself described publicly committing to a marketing timeline as “a huge departure” from his usual approach, noting he would not normally make such announcements ahead of time.

  • GTA 6 Likely Won’t Cost $100 as Take-Two Signals a $70–$80 Price Range

    GTA 6 Likely Won’t Cost $100 as Take-Two Signals a $70–$80 Price Range

Fresh comments from Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick have poured cold water on one of the biggest Grand Theft Auto 6 rumors: that Rockstar’s next blockbuster could launch with a $100 standard edition. While the company still has not officially announced GTA 6’s retail price, Zelnick’s latest remarks strongly point to a more familiar $70 to $80 premium range instead.

Zelnick addressed pricing again during the Q4 earnings call on May 21, where he also reaffirmed the November 19 launch date and outlined Take-Two’s full FY2027 financial outlook.

What Take-Two actually said about premium game pricing

The pricing discussion resurfaced after Zelnick spoke about in-game advertising in premium titles. In that interview, he said it would be difficult to justify interstitial-style ads in a game players had already paid “$70 or $80” for, adding that such a model would feel unfair. He did not explicitly announce a final Grand Theft Auto VI price, but the comment has been widely read as the clearest signal yet of where Take-Two sees premium game pricing.

Why the $100 GTA 6 rumor spread so widely

That matters because the $100 GTA 6 rumor has been circulating for more than a year. Much of that speculation traces back to analyst commentary from early 2025, when some industry observers argued that publishers were hoping GTA 6 could push the market to a new base price between $80 and $100. Those reports were never based on an official Rockstar announcement, but the rumor kept spreading as anticipation for the game grew.

A $70–$80 standard edition now looks more realistic

Zelnick’s wording does not completely settle the issue, but it does make the idea of a $100 base version look far less likely than social media chatter suggested. Right now, the more grounded interpretation is that Take-Two expects premium console games to sit around $70 or possibly $80, rather than making a direct jump to triple digits for the standard edition.

Deluxe editions could still go above $100

There is still an important distinction here: standard edition pricing is not the same as deluxe or collector’s edition pricing. Even if GTA 6 launches at $69.99 or $79.99, special editions could still climb above $100 once bonus content, early-access perks, or physical collectibles are bundled in. That is already standard practice for major AAA releases, and it is one reason some headlines around GTA 6 pricing have likely overstated the expected entry cost.

What Rockstar has officially confirmed so far

What is official is the release timing. Rockstar has confirmed that Grand Theft Auto VI is set to launch on November 19, 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The company has not yet published an official retail price for the game.

GTA 6 price is still unannounced, but the latest signal is clear

For now, GTA 6 remains in a familiar position: release date confirmed, price still unannounced, and speculation filling the gap. But based on Take-Two’s latest comments, the current evidence points much more toward a $70–$80 launch range than the widely repeated claim that Rockstar is preparing a $100 standard edition.

  • Grand Theft Auto on a Budget: Will GTA 6 Cost More Than GTA 5?

Grand Theft Auto on a Budget: Will GTA 6 Cost More Than GTA 5?

GTA 6 is one of the most anticipated games in the action-adventure genre. People are curious about how much it will cost for PS5 and Xbox X/S consoles.

Did you know that GTA 5 made over $815 million in sales within 24 hours of its release? In just 3 days, it reached $1 billion in sales. So, it’s expected that GTA 6 will do even better when it officially releases on PS5 and Xbox X/S.

Rockstar Games said that GTA 6 will take place in the state of Leonida, featuring Vice City and more. This shows how much effort and money they’ve put into making it a top-notch open-world game.

Some rumors say GTA 6 could cost $150, which is quite high. But leaks suggest that it’s being made with a budget of $1 billion to $2 billion, making it one of the most expensive games ever. It’s expected to come out worldwide in the first quarter of 2025.

However, there are other rumors saying that GTA 6 might cost $70, which is the new standard price for AAA games according to the CEO of Rockstar’s publisher. Other AAA games like NBA 2K24 have been priced at $70, but it’s hard to predict GTA 6’s price for sure.

Considering its high-quality graphics and immersive gameplay, GTA 6 could be priced between $70 to $80 for the Standard Edition. The Deluxe Edition might cost $90 to $100, and a Collector’s Edition could go up to $150 to $200.

Given the huge budget for GTA 6, it’s likely to be more expensive than previous GTA games like GTA 5, which was priced at $59.99.

Pre-orders for Rockstar games usually start a few months before the release. So, we can expect GTA 6 pre-orders to begin around October 2024. The actual pre-order date and bonuses will be announced by Rockstar Games.

Fans are eagerly waiting for more information about GTA 6, including its price, release date, trailer, and gameplay details. We’ll have to wait for an official announcement from Rockstar Games to know for sure.

The company explained in a filing with the SEC that it is restructuring to reduce costs and won’t be hiring as much in the future. This restructuring could cost up to $200 million but is expected to save the company more than $165 million each year. The layoffs are expected to mostly finish by December 31, 2024.

A five percent reduction means around 579 out of their 11,580 employees might be affected. Take-Two hasn’t said which teams or projects will be affected. However, likely, big upcoming games like Grand Theft Auto VI won’t be affected.

This news comes during a tough time for the gaming industry, which has seen many layoffs since 2023. Take-Two is also buying Gearbox, the company behind Borderlands, for $460 million.

Earlier, the CEO said there were no plans for layoffs, making this change surprising. Despite the huge success of GTA 5, which has made billions since 2013, Take-Two is still making cuts.

While GTA 6 is likely safe from cancellation, the reduced workforce could slow down its development. There are concerns it might be delayed from 2025 to 2026.

Take-Two recently bought Gearbox, the company behind Borderlands, for $460 million. GTA 6 is expected to be a massive success, but the industry is seeing many layoffs after the pandemic, affecting companies like Microsoft, EA, Sony, Riot, and more.

GTA 6 Leaked Screenshot Confirms: Brace Yourself For A MASSIVE Open World

When Rockstar Games released the first Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer in December, fans were hungry for additional information about the game. Until then, fans are delving into the little trailer to learn all they can.

Grand Theft Auto 6 is rumored to be even bigger and better than past Rockstar titles like Grand Theft Auto 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2. It’s mainly set in a place inspired by Miami called Vice City, but there’s more to explore.

This shows how vast the map will be. Vice City is all the way out there!

Thanks to lots of leaks, it seems like GTA 6 will cover not just Florida but also nearby states like Georgia. The map will have Vice City (Miami) and other cool spots like the Gator Keys, mountains, lakes, ports, and other cities.

If these rumors are true, GTA 6 could be one of the biggest open-world games ever. Fans are hyped! Someone on r/GTA6 even spotted a neat detail in the trailer: you can see Vice City way off in the distance while the character Jason is driving. It gives us an idea of how huge the map will be.

“I can’t wait to cruise around on a motorcycle with the radio blasting,” one fan said. Another was amazed at how good people are at finding little details in the trailer. They even missed stuff like the TV tower in the beginning until someone pointed it out.

It might be a while before we see the full map, but with all the excitement, let’s hope it’s worth the wait!

GTA 6 Leaked Heist Gameplay Goes Viral, Fans In Awe

Rockstar Games had a tough time after a big cyber attack in September 2022. During the attack, a lot of stuff from Grand Theft Auto VI got leaked, like videos of the game being made, screenshots, and pieces of the code.

But things have been changing since then. Last December, they finally released the first trailer for GTA VI. It gave us a peek at the main characters, Jason and Lucia.

After that, it’s been pretty quiet – at least officially. We know GTA VI is supposed to come out in 2025, and some insiders think it might even be out early in the year.

So, we’re expecting the marketing for the game to pick up as we get closer to the end of 2024. Hopefully, we’ll get to see some gameplay soon.

Now, there’s been some leaked gameplay floating around, but I’m not going to show it. It’s not fair to the developers, who’ve worked hard on the game and want us to see it when it’s all finished.

But from what people have seen in the leaked stuff, it looks pretty cool. There’s a part called ‘The Waffle House Heist’ where Lucia causes chaos in a fast-food joint, and the cops show up.

Even though it’s an early version of the game, people are impressed. They’re saying things like, “Even though it’s not finished, it looks great!” and “This game is going to be awesome!”

So, it seems like GTA VI is shaping up to be something special. It’s coming out on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S in 2025.
