Metal Gear Solid 3 Remake Gameplay: See Snake’s New Moves and Abilities

Konami revealed the first gameplay trailer for Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater at the Xbox Partner Preview event. And it looks stunning.

The gameplay trailer, while brief, demonstrated the characteristic stealth gameplay in action, from Snake crossing the water near a crocodile to him about to kill an enemy with a pistol outfitted with a Silencer attachment.

Metal Gear Solid 3 Remake Gameplay

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater has released new in-game footage that demonstrates astonishing realistic graphics created with Unreal Engine 5. Metal Gear Solid 3 is one of Konami’s best games, so fans are excited to see if the remake can live up to the anticipation.

Metal Gear Solid Delta, which was first announced in May, is being developed by Konami’s in-house team and Virtuos, which has worked on ports for titles such as Final Fantasy 10 and Nier Automata.

The game is the centerpiece of Metal Gear Solid’s newest rebirth, which also includes two remaster collections of prior classics.

During Xbox Partner Preview, gamers were able to glimpse a movie showcasing in-game footage of Metal Gear Solid 3’s remake. Snake can be seen sneaking around in the jungle, traversing murky waterways, and hiding from hostile soldiers under bushes in the video.

The video also includes some close-ups of local wildlife, such as birds and crocodiles. Overall, it appears that the game’s art design is aiming for realism. The trailer also revealed that Metal Gear Solid Delta will be created with Epic’s Unreal Engine 5, which was previously speculated to be the game’s engine.

While the graphics look amazing, it’s clear that replicating a classic like Metal Gear Solid Delta would be difficult. Hideo Kojima will not work on the Metal Gear Solid 3 remake because he has been out of Konami for several years.

Metal Gear Solid Delta does not yet have an official release date, but fans of the franchise can entertain themselves while they wait. Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 was recently released, and despite a few technical flaws, it provides decent value for money.

Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2 is also on the way, as a recent leak revealed that the collection will include Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, and Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain. However, fans will have to wait for an official confirmation on that front.

  • Payday 3 Dev Apologizes For Radio Silence, Promises Updates Soon

Payday 3 Dev Apologizes For Radio Silence, Promises Updates Soon

Payday 3’s launch has been so disastrous that more people are playing its 10-year-old predecessor on Steam than its sequel. Starbreeze has since apologized for its lack of communication and addressed the delay with Payday 3’s initial patch.

“We’ve been quiet over the last few days, and we apologize,” the statement on the Payday website started. “It’s difficult to communicate when we haven’t been able to provide any updates on the one big topic that’s on everyone’s mind right now: when are the Payday 3 patches coming?”

Take a look at this tweet:

Despite our quiet, we want to tell you that the team is continuing to work on our main priority, which is to get the fix we promised you out to you as soon as possible and to ensure that our patching process allows us to continue publishing them at a consistent cadence in the future.”

Starbreeze went on to say that Payday 3’s first patch is currently undergoing testing and certification with PlayStation owner Sony and Xbox owner Microsoft, which is critical in order to retain platform consistency.

The delay is due to the identification of a mistake that could result in the loss of player progress.

“The reason it has taken so long to get this first patch ready is very long and complicated, but the short version is that we discovered critical errors with our update pipeline shortly after the game released,” said Starbreeze. “There was a significant risk to player progression being wiped if we didn’t address this and ensure a solid test environment.”

Starbreeze stated that it plans to enhance Payday 3’s advancement system, which has been criticized by gamers, in order “to balance both the challenge system as well as offering infamy points for each heist.” More on this to come.

“Once we can consistently deliver patches, the team will also deliver on our plans for more content for the game,” Starbreeze said. Before the end of the year, free content updates are expected.

“We apologize once more for our silence.” We understand your irritation and fury, and we can assure you that this is not a scenario in which we want to be. The team is hard at work creating a game that will be sustained for years to come, with the goal of making Payday 3 the new criminal dawn!”

Payday 3’s debut was marred by server difficulties, prompting Starbreeze CEO Tobias Sjögren to apologize. “We are so sorry that the infrastructure didn’t hold up as expected, and although it’s impossible to prepare for every scenario — we should be able to do better,” he went on to say.

You might also be interested in the following gaming news:

Over a month after the September 21 release of Payday 3, the patch promised to remedy these flaws is still unavailable. Payday 3 had 3.1 million players as of October 2, according to Starbreeze, although this number has fallen, at least on Steam.

Payday 3’s 24-hour peak is currently 3,234 users, which is much lower than Payday 2’s 36,538. The third game does not even make it into Steam’s top 100 most popular games, trailing Cookie Clicker, Bloons TD 6, and Russian Fishing 4.

Starbreeze criticized their third-party matchmaking partner for server difficulties at launch and stated that an offline mode would be considered (Payday 3 requires a constant online connection). “We have a lot of diligent and consistent work ahead of us to regain community trust, but we will work hard to do it,” Sjögren went on to say.

  • Cities Skylines II Review (2023): The Most Realistic City Builder Yet?

Cities Skylines II Review (2023): The Most Realistic City Builder Yet?

Cities: Skylines 2 is a terrific city builder with incredible quality-of-life features, an excellent underlying simulation, and a fantastic set of tools to let you create the city of your dreams.

It also launches in one of the worst technical situations I’ve ever seen from a big video game on any platform, with a slew of technical and performance concerns that overwhelm almost everything else. This could be the best city-building game ever developed someday, but that moment is not now.

Cities: Skylines 2 is, for all practical purposes, an early access game – an in-development product that you should only invest in if you’re patient and optimistic enough to wait for it to improve over time.

Developer Colossal Order has admitted that this launch is inadequate and has promised further enhancements in the future, but it will take a lot of work to get this sim into an acceptable state.

When Cities: Skylines 2 sings, it truly sings. The game accurately simulates every citizen’s existence, and watching how individual choices affect everything from traffic density to economic growth gives everything a fantastic sense of life. The new construction tools are better than ever, reducing the monotony of putting out highways and huge residential zones.

    Road Work Ahead

Skylines in Cities The building tools in 2 are so fantastic that they even got me to be creative against my best efforts. I played city builders for the management simulation rather than the opportunity to create aesthetically attractive metropolises. Yet, within a few hours of making my first city, I had gorgeous tiny communities, each with its personality.

Because of the ease with which I could create curving streets and construct around topographical oddities, I ended up automatically producing the kinds of strange minor diversions that give actual towns their personalities. The scale of the maps also helps with this, as it quietly encourages you to build a metropolis realistically.

Because industry requires access to shipping in order to thrive, I’ve created this waterfront industrial park that connects to my harbor and railyard. The original group of residential and commercial zones I built quickly became a dense urban center that serves as the beating heart of my city. As more residents continue to want to move in, I continue to build massive, simplified road grids on the outskirts of town to support an increasingly unwieldy suburban sprawl.

It’s not even difficult to keep your infrastructure upgraded to meet the needs of your city’s growth. It is simple to replace highways with higher-capacity alternatives and minor improvements barely expand the footprint of those roadways.

When it becomes necessary to convert, for example, a two-lane street into a six-lane thoroughfare, the relevant buildings are automatically bulldozed to make room, and possible zoning zones are quickly rezoned to accommodate the new road plan. More significant city service buildings include a universal ‘ Relocation’ button that allows you to transfer them anywhere at any time for a minimal charge.

Going back through old neighborhoods to update and perfect them can be the most time-consuming aspect of a city builder, but it’s also one of the most enjoyable parts of Cities: Skylines 2.

It was pretty enjoyable going back over early sections that I’d quickly slapped together, playing with the architecture to get it just perfect – I even found myself having a fun time modifying the genre’s biggest bugbear: highway networks. Cities: Skylines 2 managed to make me appreciate the process of extending a cloverleaf interchange, which is a true marvel.

    From Village To Megalopolis

While Cities: Skylines 2 will never be able to compete with the original game and all of its DLC in terms of the sheer volume of available content at launch, the sequel is far from lacking. There are several possibilities to help increase, for example, your police or fire coverage, as well as more sorts of roadways than I could ever believe exist.

It is an RPG-style progression system in which you level up as your city grows and spend what are essentially skill points to unlock new building options, and while I’m generally of the ‘not everything has to be an RPG’ camp, this is a brilliant addition to help introduce you to all those building options without making them too overwhelming. (If the material drip-feed irritates you, you can check a box to unlock everything when you begin a new city.)

Cities: Skylines 2 has lots of clever small elements that help make things readable. The familiar overlays for things like traffic density or pollution levels are as bright as ever. Still, new and enlarged information like the updated Chirper feed is even better at letting you keep a pulse on your city.

Chirper still offers you a Twitter-style feed showcasing your residents’ feelings. Still, it’s now much more often updated, and the number of likes a post receives indicates how strongly it affects your citizens’ well-being. I thought this faux social media feed to be a novelty. Still, it’s actually useful for discovering issues that are troubling your citizens in ways that other types of information panels could miss.

You might also be interested in the following gaming news:

    Expect Heavy Congestion

Cities: Skylines 2 was played on a PC powered by an i9 9900k and an RTX 3080, a rig capable of delivering decent performance in even the most technically demanding games. Nonetheless, I found myself needing to reduce the settings not just to medium or low but to very low in order to achieve frame rates above 30 frames per second consistently.

Forget the ‘Can it run Crysis?’ cliche; PC gamers are going to adopt ‘Can it run Cities: Skylines 2?’ as the new standard for top-tier gaming performance.

The overall poor performance of Cities: Skylines 2 is shocking. Given how powerful the underlying simulation is, a significant amount of CPU demand is to be expected, but Skylines 2 is also shockingly taxing on your graphics card despite a straightforward visual design.

I’m not sure what the underlying technical limits are that cause this kind of issue, but it seems horrible when a game like this is straining my system harder than, say, Cyberpunk 2077 with ray tracing.

ARK Survival: The Biggest News And Updates For The Year

On Wednesday, lead creator Craig Brown revealed on X/Twitter that Ark: Survival Ascended would be available on Steam today.

“Guess what’s coming out later today…” Brown responded, copying and pasting a link to Ark’s Steam page, where it’s available in early access. The release date is presently marked as “coming soon.”

The Unreal Engine 5 remake of the original Ark: Survival Evolved, Ark: Survival Ascended, has been given its first look by Microsoft.

The trailer, which debuted during the Xbox Partner Preview presentation, featured the famous dinosaur-filled surroundings that helped Ark: Survival Evolved become such a smash hit on PC and consoles in 2015.

Ark: Survival Ascended is “coming soon,” according to developer Studio Wildcard, and supports cross-platform modding with Unreal Engine 5, which means the Xbox Series X and S versions will benefit from mods published for the PC version.

According to a post on Xbox Wire by Studio Wildcard, the new in-game CurseForge mod browser, which will be instantly accessible from the game’s main menu, will soon be loaded with additional structures, dinos, maps, decorative elements, and game modes.

Interestingly, Studio Wildcard stated that it is collaborating with professional game studios and developers to bring their unique content and IP to Ark: Survival Ascended in order to “create the ultimate gaming modding ecosystem.”

Ark’s user interface has also been updated. It’s been “punched up visually,” according to Studio Wildcard, with greater functionality. The third-person camera has been upgraded, and a new, highly detailed map system that allows world pings and points of interest has been added.

“So no more running into walls of your base, but running away from Carnivores just got tougher!” said the developer of superior dynamic navigation for intelligent creature pathfinding.

  • Starfield Modders Release First Community Patch In 2023, Fixes Game-Breaking Bugs

Starfield Modders Release First Community Patch In 2023, Fixes Game-Breaking Bugs

As with most Bethesda games before it, the flaws in Starfield that official patches haven’t addressed are being corrected by a community of modders, and the first Starfield Community Patch is now available.

The Starfield Community Patch version 0.0.1 is now available on Nexus Mods and includes dozens of bug fixes. The full changelog is available on the patch page, but some of the most significant changes include a spot to ensure that many of the skill ranks actually apply the bonuses they’re meant to.

Starfield Modders Release First Community Patch

Players can now download a free community-created patch for Starfield on PC, which aims to address a variety of minor bugs plaguing Bethesda’s latest RPG, ranging from patches for inaccurate speech to skill tweaks and several other polishing changes.

Starfield Modders Release First Community Patch
Starfield Modders Release First Community Patch

Bethesda stated in May 2022 that it was delaying the release of Starfield to ensure that gamers get “the best, most polished” version of the game. This was a wise decision because when it was released earlier this year on September 6th, gamers were rewarded with a vast RPG that was filled with content and generally free of significant bugs and game-breaking difficulties.

However, as one would expect from a game as large as Bethesda’s latest cosmic adventure, Starfield has its share of problems, quirks, and graphical abnormalities, some of which persist to this day.

Fortunately, the developer is now receiving assistance in its mission to address Starfield’s remaining issues in the form of an unofficial patch written by a coalition of community modders, whose initial offering seeks to “improve the vanilla experience for all players” while remaining true to Bethesda’s vision for the game.

The initial version, which can be downloaded via Nexus Mods, features 32 fixes written by nine volunteers and focuses on fixing existing issues with Starfield rather than adding new content.

As a result, it excludes any newly generated quests, characters, equipment, or other community-created hijinks. However, gamers interested in such might check out IGN’s list of our top mods to date.

Instead, the Starfield Community Patch and subsequent iterations will attempt to address a slew of minor annoyances such as script errors, misplaced objects, inconsistent item properties, missing attributes, and spelling errors, as well as issues with faulty missions and game-breaking exploits.

The modders remark that their work is now only available for PC download, owing to the creators’ failure to bring Bethesda.net to the console version of the game.

  • Manor Lords Launch Date: Here’s When You Can Start Building Your Medieval Empire

Manor Lords Launch Date: Here’s When You Can Start Building Your Medieval Empire

We first spotted Manor Lords a few years back when its combination of Crusader Kings-style simulation, Ages of Empires-style city-building, and epic conflicts a la Total War made it a game to keep an eye on.

We weren’t alone in our excitement, as the ambitious medieval strategy game – produced by a single developer, no less – soared up the Steam charts to become one of the platform’s most wanted games.

We’ve received another taste of Manor Lords two and a half years later, owing to its reappearance during today’s Xbox Partner Preview stream, which showed off more of its ambitious gameplay and disclosed a release date.

    Manor Lords Launch Date

Manor Lords will be a new Day One Xbox Game Pass Ultimate release in April 2024, according to a recent Xbox Partner Preview event. The upcoming medieval strategy game Manor Lords will be available as part of PC Game Pass on April 26, 2024.

Manor Lords was initially a PC-only project. Therefore, only PC Game Pass and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers will be able to play it. Manor Lords joins an already lengthy list of Xbox Game Pass releases set to arrive in the coming year.

At this moment, Manor Lords was introduced several years ago. Slavic Magic, the developer, has been quite active on social media, offering brief videos and insights into the production process.

Slavic Magic has gone to great lengths to highlight all facets of the game, including its medieval realism. Unsurprisingly, it has gained quite a following. The release of Manor Lords in April 2024 is already greatly anticipated.

Slavic Magic presented a new trailer for Manor Lords as part of the recent Xbox Partner Preview event, which includes two essential news.

The first news was that Manor Lords will be a Day One Xbox Game Pass Ultimate release, initially available only on PC. The second announcement was the finalized release date for Manor Lords, which will be April 26.

Slavic Magic does state that the April 2024 release of Manor Lords will be an early-access edition of the game, not the final release.

Check out these other Gaming Guides articles:

It has been announced that Manor Lords’ early access edition will include fundamental components such as city-building, army management and battles, territory claims, and a limited number of modes and scenarios. The complete launch will significantly build on that content. It is unclear when Manor Lords will be completely operational.

It was surprising to see Manor Lords included in the Xbox Partner Preview event. PC games continue to be a priority of Microsoft’s Game Pass ambitions, but it’s unusual for games to be highlighted so prominently.

Manor Lords, a medieval strategy game with sophisticated economic and social aspects, is likewise a niche project. Manor Lords had to have impressed enough that it couldn’t be overlooked.

The addition of Manor Lords to the roster of future Game Pass games makes 2024 appear extremely appealing. Hundreds of games have already been confirmed for Xbox Game Pass next year, but few have release dates. Persona 3 Reload will be available on February 2nd, and Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes will be available on April 24th. As the new year approaches, expect that list to expand.

  • Quest for Cosmic Racquet Sports

    Quest for Cosmic Racquet Sports

In the vast expanse of outer space, where astronauts float weightlessly, and satellites orbit tirelessly, a seemingly ordinary Earthly activity has taken on an extraordinary twist – tennis in space.

While the notion of playing tennis beyond our planet may seem fanciful, it’s a concept that has captured the imagination of scientists, engineers, and sports enthusiasts alike. In this article, we delve into the unconventional quest for cosmic racquet sports, exploring the challenges, opportunities, and the potential future of tennis in space.

    The Cosmic Challenge of Gravity

One of the most fundamental challenges of playing tennis in space is the absence of gravity. On Earth, gravity pulls the ball down to the ground and ensures that it bounces predictably. However, in microgravity environments such as the International Space Station (ISS), where astronauts live and work, there is no ‘down.’ Instead, objects and astronauts float freely, making it nearly impossible to play tennis in the traditional sense.

To address this challenge, researchers and engineers have had to rethink the very fundamentals of tennis. They have developed specialized racquets and balls that can function in microgravity.

These racquets are designed with adjustable tension strings, allowing astronauts to control the ball’s trajectory by altering the force they hit it. The tennis balls themselves are made of soft, foam-like materials to prevent them from damaging the delicate equipment aboard the ISS.

    The Space Tennis Experience

Playing tennis in space is quite different from playing it on Earth. In space, there’s no gravity pulling things down like we’re used to.

So, astronauts have to follow some new rules when they play tennis. They need to use their coordination and skills to guess where the ball will go because it doesn’t behave the same way as it does on Earth. This makes playing tennis in space very exciting and tricky, and astronauts must focus a lot and be ready to adapt quickly.

What’s even more special is that when astronauts play tennis in space, they see amazing views of our planet Earth through the windows of their spacecraft, like the International Space Station (ISS). This adds a sense of wonder and inspiration to the game.

It’s not just a game; it’s also a way for astronauts to relax and stay healthy in both body and mind during their long missions in space. So, it’s not just about playing tennis; it’s about making space more exciting and staying happy and fit while exploring the stars.

The Future of Cosmic Racquet Sports

While tennis in space remains a niche activity, it holds the potential for broader applications. Beyond serving as a recreational pastime for astronauts, it offers insights into the physics of microgravity and the development of specialized sports equipment.

As we continue to explore space and envision potential settlements on other celestial bodies, adapting sports like tennis for space could play a role in maintaining physical and mental health in off-world colonies.

The Zero-Gravity Challenge: Adapting Tennis for Space

    Reimagining the Game in Microgravity

Playing tennis on Earth is a sport we know well, but it gets tricky when you try to play it in space. The big problem is that there’s no gravity like we have here on our planet. Gravity pulls the tennis ball down on Earth, so it bounces predictably.

But in space, where astronauts live and work on the International Space Station (ISS), there’s no up or down. Everything floats around, so playing tennis the usual way doesn’t work.

Here are some key points to understand the challenges of playing tennis in space:

    • Absence of Gravity: The absence of gravity in space means there’s no natural force to pull the tennis ball downward, making it behave differently.
    • Unpredictable Bounces: The ball doesn’t bounce consistently without gravity, making it challenging for players to anticipate its movements.
    • Specially Designed Equipment: To adapt to the unique space environment, astronauts use racquets and tennis balls designed to function in microgravity.
    • Skill and Concentration: Playing tennis in space requires astronauts to rely on their coordination and skills to adjust to unpredictable ball movements, demanding high concentration and adaptability.

To solve this problem, smart scientists and engineers had to change the game of tennis for space. They created special tennis racquets and balls that can handle the weirdness of space. These racquets have strings that can be adjusted to control how hard you hit the ball. The tennis balls are made of soft, foam-like materials so they won’t harm the critical stuff on the ISS.

Put, playing tennis in space is like playing a brand-new game because there’s no gravity to follow the rules we know on Earth. But thanks to clever inventors, astronauts can still enjoy their favorite sport while they float among the stars. However, tennis betting, a popular aspect of the sport on Earth, isn’t something they can do in the unique space environment.

    The Space Tennis Experience

Playing tennis in space is different from playing on Earth. There’s no gravity to keep things down in space, so the game changes significantly.

Players must be good at moving and predicting where the ball will go because it doesn’t behave the same way on Earth. Astronauts say it’s exciting and challenging and must concentrate and adapt.

But there’s a cool side to playing tennis in space, too. When you look out of the windows of the International Space Station (ISS), you can see amazing views of Earth. It adds a sense of wonder to the game. This isn’t just fun for astronauts; it also helps them stay physically and mentally healthy during their long missions in space.

In conclusion, tennis in space represents a unique fusion of sports and science, pushing the boundaries of human capability beyond Earth’s confines. As technology advances and space exploration becomes more accessible, we can only imagine the evolution of cosmic racquet sports and their role in the future of human activities in space.

From challenging the laws of physics to providing astronauts with a reprieve from their demanding missions, tennis in space is a testament to human ingenuity and our unyielding spirit of exploration.

Like A Dragon Infinite Wealth New Trailer Gets Fans Excited For The 2023 Release

Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth has revealed the crazy, chaotic Animal Crossing-style option that I’ve always wanted to see. Yakuza developer Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio really stole the show at today’s Xbox Partner Preview event with a teaser for Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth’s new Dondoko Island feature, which allows you to climb aboard a dolphin and ride off to greener pastures. “Sometimes even the yakuza need a breather,” the studio says, and I couldn’t agree more.

Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth New Trailer

On Dondoko Island, you can fish, gather materials, buy and craft furniture, tamper with the island’s design and infrastructure, design your dream home inside and out, hang out with locals, host L’aus, and impress everyone with your guitar skills, and generally chill the hell out, Yakuza style.

You can also make pals with exotic birds, ram-headed men, and “strange creatures.” Essentially, this is the Animal Crossing-style game I’ve always desired. I liked Animal Crossing: New Horizons and, like virtually everyone else in the world, played the heck out of it throughout 2020, but playing it today makes me nauseated with thoughts of quarantine, Zoom call hangouts, and whipped coffee.

Dondoko Island has none of those negative connections and all of the wacky charm of the Yakuza series that I adore. With Dondoko Island just a dolphin ride away, I’m afraid I’ll never finish the campaign, but thankfully, our Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth preview reveals the campaign is a total banger, so I’m not too concerned.

Nintendo stated that Mario Party 3 would be available on the Switch Online service. Now, it appears that the third installment in the party game series has an official release date.

Nintendo Switch Online is an annual membership service that allows players to access online multiplayer and a library of titles from old Nintendo platforms, among other things. Hundreds of games from outlets such as the NES, SNES, and original Game Boy are included in the basic subscription tier.

The Expansion Pack includes all of the previously stated consoles as well as the Nintendo 64, Game Boy Advance, and Sega Genesis for a fee. Nintendo includes a handpicked library of games with each of their consoles, and more are added each month. This week, the service finally makes a traditional party game available to users.

On October 27, the Nintendo 64 game Mario Party 3 will be released as part of the Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack. After a Friday update, the game will be available via the Nintendo 64 app.

The third and final installment of the Nintendo 64 trilogy will join the first two titles already available on the service. Mario Party 3 is the first Nintendo 64 game added to the Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack since Excitebike 64 in August.

While not as well-received as the previous two installments in the series, many regard Mario Party 3 as a worthwhile addition to the service, thanks to several addictively enjoyable mini-games and unique boards. 1080 Snowboarding is another confirmed game that fans are hoping Nintendo would add to Switch Online, but its release date is still unknown.

Although the service is fast filling in some of the most iconic retro titles, Nintendo has yet to commit to adding GameCube games to Switch Online. With games like Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door being rebuilt for the platform and Metroid Prime being updated, people are concerned that Nintendo will cease with the Nintendo 64.

However, the service could move in various directions. There are hundreds more fantastic DS Games waiting to be added to the Nintendo Switch Online catalog.

Not to mention that the existing consoles’ apps still have flaws. Core Pokemon RPGs, for example, would be welcome on both the Game Boy and Game Boy Advance apps. Nonetheless, with so many vintage titles in Nintendo’s archive, it will be interesting to see what comes to the service next.

  • Claim Your Halloween Thrills: Tandem and The Evil Within 2 Now Free on Epic Games Store

Claim Your Halloween Thrills: Tandem and The Evil Within 2 Now Free on Epic Games Store

Tandem: A Tale of Shadows and The Evil Within 2 are the free games available on the Epic Games Store from October 26 to November 2. The Epic Games Store may not have an extensive mystery game campaign in October as it does in December, but that doesn’t mean the digital storefront can’t celebrate the Halloween season.

Eternal Threads and The Evil Within are the latest Epic Games Store free games, both of which are available from October 19 until October 26. The Evil Within is a survival-horror game created by Shinji Mikami, well-known as the developer of the Resident Evil franchise.

Eternal Threads is a first-person puzzle game, whereas The Evil Within is a survival-horror game. Endless Threads and The Evil Within will be removed from the Epic Games Store free games lineup on October 26 at 10:00 am local time and replaced by Tandem: A Tale of Shadows and The Evil Within 2, with Epic Titles Store users having a week to claim those free titles as well.

Tandem: A Tale of Shadows and The Evil Within 2 will be available for free on the Epic Games Store from October 26 to November 2, overlapping with Halloween. Given this, it’s no surprise that the games complement the macabre occasion nicely. Tandem: A Tale of Shadows is a puzzle platformer with scary visuals, whereas The Evil Within 2 is another survival-horror game from Tango Gameworks.

    Epic Games Store Free Games

    • Eternal Threads (October 19 – October 26)
    • The Evil Within (October 19 – October 26)
    • Tandem: A Tale of Shadows (October 26 – November 2)
    • The Evil Within 2 (October 26 – November 2)

Users who have yet to play the games on the Epic Games Store will undoubtedly like the fact that the launcher is giving gratis the first Evil Within game one week and the sequel the following week.

Both games are ideal for Halloween. The original Evil Within is known for being more of a pure horror game. In contrast, The Evil Within 2 has a little more action and even some open-ended parts that explore open-world level design, yet remaining a survival-horror title.

You might also be interested in the following gaming news:

The free games are theirs to keep forever as long as Epic Games Store users claim them during their window of availability. The same will be true for the free mystery games on the Epic Games Store, which are expected to return in December.

Unlike the regular Epic Games Store free games, which are given on a weekly basis, the mystery games are published on a daily basis, acting as a sort of advent calendar to keep EGS customers coming back each day while the launcher has its major Christmas sale.

  • Discover The Exciting Details About Assassin’s Creed Red, from Development to Gameplay leaks!

Discover The Exciting Details About Assassin’s Creed Red, from Development to Gameplay leaks!

The game Assassin’s Creed Red is going to do something that Ubisoft has been promising us since 2007: let us explore Japan as an assassin. That’s what Project Red, Ubisoft Quebec’s next flagship open-world action RPG, promises.

This is the most interesting upcoming Assassin’s Creed game we’ve heard about so far, from Assassin’s Creed Hexe to Assassin’s Creed Infinity. AC Odyssey’s studio is working on a Feudal Japan scenario and “the biggest blockbuster for 2024.”

The production of Assassin’s Creed Red has become so large-scale that it has diverted resources from other projects, affecting other planned Ubisoft titles – Immortals Fenix Rising 2 has reportedly been shelved as a result. So, what’s the big deal about?

Below is what we know so far about Assassin’s Creed Red, which is anticipated to arrive sometime next year, following the October 5, 2023 release of Assassin’s Creed Mirage.

    Assassin’s Creed Red

Following the success of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla in 2020, Ubisoft Quebec’s next major game in the franchise will be Assassin’s Creed Japan.

Developer Marc-Alexis Cote, who has worked on some of the best Assassin’s Creed games as both creative director and producer, defined Codename Red as Ubisoft’s “next premium flagship title” before suggesting that it will be “the future of our open-world RPG games on Assassin’s Creed.”

    Assassin’s Creed Red Development

Ubisoft Quebec is working on Assassin’s Creed Codename Red. The studio made its name by developing expansions for Assassin’s Creed 3 and Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag, and it impressed the powers that be enough to become the first studio outside of series creator Ubisoft Montreal to be given the reigns of a mainstream installment.

Ubisoft Quebec went on to lead the development of Assassin’s Creed Syndicate in 2015 and Assassin’s Creed Odyssey in 2018. While we don’t know how long Assassin’s Creed Codename Red has been in development, we do know that Jonathan Dumont will return as creative director, a post he held on both AC Odyssey and Ubisoft Quebec’s Immortals Fenix Rising, which was released in 2020.

    Assassin’s Creed Red leaks

Assassin’s Creed Codename Red has seen its fair share of leaks and rumors. The announcement of an Assassin’s Creed Japan game came in July 2022. Still, it was unclear if it would be a standalone experience or part of the larger Assassin’s Creed Infinity offering.

We now know that Assassin’s Creed Codename Red will be the series’ next major installment, despite the fact that it set the internet on fire at the moment. And with reason: it’s been a long time coming.

While Assassin’s Creed: Fragments, a series of YA novels, provided us with a peek into the lives of The Blade of Aizu (located in Japan), and there have been a few clues in the mainline games over the years, the setting has always been desired but never delivered.

Fortunately, in this case, the reports were genuine and who knows how long we’ll have to wait for more details. The most recent disclosures have come from an unnamed inside source, according to Insider Gaming.

If the rumors are correct, we will be able to pick between two playable characters in Codename Red: a Samurai and a Shinobi. We’re not sure if character selection will function like Odyssey and lock us in for the length of the game or if we’ll be allowed to swap mid-game.

The female Samurai character can be seen in the announcement trailer. At the same time, according to Insider Gaming, the as-yet-unseen Shinobi is “understood to be an African refugee who learned the way of the Creed.”

This leak appears to have been verified in some way by a LinkedIn leak from an Assassin’s Creed writer, who shared an image of a female warrior wielding a katana. It was also accompanied by a stylized logo for the next sequel. At the very least, it appears to be prototype branding that may alter the final product when the game is released in 2024.

Playing as Samurais and Shinobis, it stands to reason that an earlier leak from Insider Gaming revealed that Codename Red will emphasize stealth gameplay while also encouraging open-world map exploration and RPG gaming found in newer titles.

  • PlayStation-Owned Company Visual Arts & Media Molecule Joins Layoff Trend

PlayStation-Owned Company Visual Arts & Media Molecule Joins Layoff Trend

Visual Arts, a PlayStation support firm, has gone through another round of layoffs, with some former employees sharing their news on social media last week.

“Unfortunately, following a wave of layoffs, last week was my last at PlayStation,” Daniel Bellemare, a former senior-level designer at Visual Arts, said on LinkedIn.

On LinkedIn, senior technical recruiter Matt Barney posted a similar update, saying he “knew this layoff was coming” and wishing those affected “the best of luck” in their future endeavors.

Rigging artist Sean Teo announced on social media that their contract had expired as well but did not specify whether this was related to the layoffs.

At this point, it’s unclear how many employees have been laid off. GamesIndustry.biz has contacted Sony for additional information.

According to former Visual Arts project coordinator John Borba, there was “restructuring within the studio” in May, and he was “among the people let go to support budgetary needs.”

    PlayStation-Owned Company Hit With Layoffs
    PlayStation-Owned Company Hit With Layoffs

Visual Arts was founded in 2007 and is most known for its work on The Last of Us, Uncharted, and Spider-Man. Naughty Dog let off at least 25 engineers in its contractor staff earlier this month, primarily from the QA team. Sony closed PixelOpus, the studio behind Concrete Genie and Entwined, in May as part of a “review process.”

    Media Molecule Joins Layoff Trend

It was announced today that Media Molecule, Sony’s first-party studio that most recently produced Dreams, will be laid off.

According to GLHF, which cites sources, roughly 20 employees would be laid off. Media Molecule now employs approximately 135 people, implying that it will be eliminating about 15% of its workforce. Staff were apparently informed of the news during a meeting today. Sony and Media Molecule have yet to respond to the report formally.

It’s incredibly awful news, and it follows a trend of layoffs in the business. Redundancies have been reported in the last month or so, ranging from major publishers to tiny companies. Epic Games, Team 17, and Telltale Games, to name a few, are laying off employees. Sony’s Visual Arts division, as well as Media Molecule, have joined the list.

You might also wanna check out some other news about Gaming:

After the success of LittleBigPlanet, Sony bought Media Molecule, and the team went on to create some of the platform’s most beloved and original exclusives.

Dreams expands on the concept of the studio’s debut game, which took nearly a decade to complete due to its complexity. Despite being highly original and very good at what it sets out to do, the game did not gain widespread success, prompting the decision to halt post-launch development and move on to a new project.

  • The Elder Scrolls 6 Sidesteps PS5! Microsoft Document Discloses!

The Elder Scrolls 6 Sidesteps PS5! Microsoft Document Discloses!

One of the most important questions that people had after Microsoft bought Bethesda for $7.5 billion in 2021 was whether or not The Elder Scrolls 6 would be available only to Microsoft employees. Phil Spencer, the boss of Xbox, has danced around the problem, most recently saying that a choice had not yet been made. But now, one of Microsoft’s own papers says that the argument is over: The Elder Scrolls 6 will not come out on PlayStation 5.

The Elder Scrolls 6 Secret Document

Stephen Totilo, an Axios writer, tweeted a newly unsealed document from the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) vs. Microsoft trial over the Activision Blizzard buyout. The document includes a list of announced Bethesda games, along with their platform plans and release dates.

The part about The Elder Scrolls 6 is especially interesting. The paper says that the game will not come out on PS5, but only on Xbox and PC. No date has been set for when it will come out, but the game is “expected 2026 or later.” Microsoft has not yet officially announced who will be able to play The Elder Scrolls 6 or when it will be available. IGN has asked Microsoft to say something.

You might also wanna check out some other news about Gaming:

The Microsoft comment on exclusivity in the document is a quotation from Spencer in a 2021 interview with GQ: “In order to be on Xbox, I want us to be able to bring the full complete package of what we have.” And it is true when I consider Elder Scrolls 6.”The Elder Scrolls 6 Sidesteps PS5It is perhaps unexpected that The Elder Scrolls 6 has been delayed to avoid PS5, given that other Bethesda games have done the same. Arkane’s Redfall and Bethesda Game Studios’ Starfield were both exclusive to Xbox and PC. The future Indiana Jones game from MachineGames is likewise expected to be an Xbox and PC exclusive.

Given the stated release date, The Elder Scrolls 6 may also bypass this generation of consoles. The Xbox Series X and S will be six years old by the end of 2026, while Microsoft’s next-generation system will be released in 2028.

Surprisingly, The Elder Scrolls 6 was unveiled at E3 2018 five years ago. Earlier this month, while speaking to the press about Starfield, Bethesda director Todd Howard said that, in retrospect, he probably wouldn’t have revealed The Elder Scrolls 6 in the same way. “I would’ve probably announced it more casually,” Howard admitted.

Last month, Bethesda’s chief of publishing, Pete Hines, acknowledged The Elder Scrolls 6 was in “early development” and urged fans not to expect to hear anything about it anytime soon.

  • Is GTA 6 Game Coming To Netflix In 2023? Here’s What We Think

Is GTA 6 Game Coming To Netflix In 2023? Here’s What We Think

Why shouldn’t the entire gaming world be waiting for news about Grand Theft Auto 6, or GTA 6, Rockstar’s next blockbuster game? Last year’s massive GTA 6 leak revealed some of the game’s amazing gameplay, systems, characters, potential objectives, and more.

While the video was quickly removed, it was enough to spark excitement among GTA fans and gamers who had been waiting for a decade. Although Rockstar has officially announced that GTA 6 is in the works, there has been no word on a release date.

Is GTA 6 Game Coming to Netflix?

A new Grand Theft Auto game could be on the way, and no, we’re not talking about GTA 6. Instead, it appears like Netflix wants a piece of the GTA pie and is attempting to get a Grand Theft Auto game of some form onto their Netflix Games service.

    GTA Online Weekly Update
    GTA Online Weekly Update

This is according to a story published today in the Wall Street Journal about the company’s continuous efforts to capitalize on its library of original IP in the gaming market after acquiring a number of game development firms.

According to the article, the business has “discussed plans” to offer a Grand Theft Auto game on its service via a licensing agreement with publisher Take-Two Interactive.

It’s unclear what kind of game it would be or who would create it.

Any GTA Sequel Would Almost Certainly Be a Mobile Game

As things currently stand, any GTA spin-off that ends up on Netflix would undoubtedly be a mobile game, as the only way to play Netflix’s portfolio is via its mobile app. According to the source, Netflix intends to expand its library someday to include games that can be streamed from a TV or a computer.

According to one analyst who spoke to the WSJ, Netflix has spent approximately $1 billion on gaming thus far. It also appears to be looking to hire more gaming executives to supervise a move into AAA titles.

However, there is currently no reliable way to determine how well that investment is paying off for the corporation or whether it ever will. Instead of being purchased separately, the games are linked to Netflix memberships, which will be updated during the company’s earnings call on Wednesday. However, there is no way of knowing whether the games are convincing people to subscribe.

They don’t appear to be a particularly significant pull for existing members, however. These games had been downloaded 70.5 million times as of September 20. That may sound like a lot, but it pales in comparison to some of the gigantic amounts generated by the world’s most popular mobile games.

Honkai: Star Rail, for example, received over 20 million downloads on its first day of release earlier this year. And, according to Apptopia, less than 1% of Netflix customers play its games on a daily basis, which is somewhat unsurprising considering that much of its portfolio, including its most prestigious titles such as Oxenfree, Immortality, Spiritfarer, and others, is available elsewhere.

We already discussed Netflix’s significant video game push earlier this year, but it appears that the landscape hasn’t changed much since then. While a major Grand Theft Auto release could theoretically shift the tide, it’s also feasible that an impending Grand Theft Auto 6 release elsewhere will vastly overwhelm anything Netflix comes up with rather than seamlessly tie into it.
