Story Mode is a roguelike experience where each dive begins in a town. You can talk to the locals and stock up on supplies for your next run using the gold you earn there.

Regarding character creation, Leroy Smith may be the best character designer in Tekken 8. Fans, however, have criticized him for being weak and underpowered in Tekken 7. As a result, many players request that he improve both his kit and damage output.
