To begin with, the cinematic features a sizable percentage of the cast from Destiny 2 assembling to watch the Traveller, Destiny’s enormous space golf ball that has been parked over Earth.
In this case, the Traveller is trying to escape extinction at the hands of a more recent enemy named Eramis by leaving the Earth’s orbit. But hold on! Rasputin, the artificial intelligence you’ve come to know and trust over the years when it was initially revealed as a Russian music-loving computer terminal hidden beneath the Cosomodrome, can protect you from this danger.

Admittedly, the narrative path leading up to the saga’s impending conclusion has changed over time, what with the return of the Exo Stranger and the Crow’s evolving position, but that’s just how stories work.
Nevertheless, it’s great to see how little details like the Traveller’s final shot fit into the grand scheme Bungie’s been working on the whole time.
Next year, in Destiny 2’s ninth addition, The Last Shape, the story will come to a close after a cyberpunky trip to Neptune in the upcoming Lightfall.
I still haven’t found the time to get back into it, but I can’t wait to see how it ends. I’m curious about the future of Zavala, Ikora, Osiris, Variks, Eris, and the rest of the gang. The Pyramid Ships need to arrive on Earth already! And I’m interested in seeing how Bungie wraps off the tale while leaving enough room for the series to continue in the future.

Major omissions, like Diagon Alley and playable Quidditch, are particularly difficult to overlook because they feel like lost potential. As opposed to the mindless chatter of the road, their brief appearances serve a useful purpose in developing the protagonists’ backstories and characters. The sprites are particularly noteworthy for the amount of nuance they manage to squeeze into their diminutive bodies, be it in the form of mannerisms, gestures, or even behaviors like smoking.
In spite of the amazing supporting cast, the core character remains emotionally distant from one another. At Agnea’s great dance, for instance, the absence of her traveling companions is especially jarring because of the reappearance of characters from an earlier chapter to cheer her on. On the other hand, the tension is weakened when three other protagonists unexpectedly appear with the pharmacist Castti after she has been threatened and told to go to a questionable building alone.

The world is also beautiful to look at, and the fact that it can be difficult to get around due to its twisting roads, lack of a global map, and lack of accurate radar are less of an issue and more of an opportunity to linger over the sun-dappled trees, moonlit snow, and excellent soundtrack.
It’s also irrelevant that you’ll need to grind regardless of how long your journeys take or how many foes you encounter. Extra experience gained from going back through the main chapters is still useful because the recommended levels increase dramatically in the middle and late games.
Chapters move quickly, but the game’s interstitial grinding becomes tedious as the game progresses because you no longer gain access to new and exciting powers. The vast majority of them take an hour or two to complete, and include talking to a slew of minor people, maybe making use of the main characters’ unique abilities, and then taking on a massive boss.
You have to figure out how to win these fights before you even get into them, and that’s because things like your team’s make-up, its gear, and its skillset are all vital. While Osvald’s mage powers can inflict various forms of elemental damage, he won’t do much actual physical damage by beating someone over the head with his staff. But, if Hikari is armed with a powerful enough sword and maybe a bonus from Castti, he can deal devastating damage with a single swing.
Maintaining this equilibrium is very pleasurable when it succeeds in a fight, but losing sight of it towards the end of a protracted conflict can have disastrous consequences. Towards the conclusion of the game, when difficulty spikes grow more frequent and bouts become progressively longer, this becomes an especially pressing issue. (It didn’t help that a few of the user interface problems obscured crucial information that explained how to use key powers and goods.)
Despite a few minor issues, most of the time the boss battles at the end of each chapter are a fitting climax, especially since the bosses’ powers correspond to their personalities. Contrast this with an enemy general who has been trained in swordplay and is likely to just attack the party very hard and very often, as opposed to a humorously villainous medic who might focus on debuffing and poisoning the group.
As much as I appreciate the planning that went into each battle, I keep thinking about how far the main characters are from one another. The emotional impact of a conflict between two childhood friends is amplified when one protagonist uses a comparable assault and tactic as his or her adversary.
Yet, the distance between the group prevents the emotional moments from resonating, as the conversation between the key characters grinds to a standstill.
Everyone who has spent any length of time in fandom communities is aware of the maxim that a little goes a long way when it comes to explaining complicated character dynamics. Everything can spark creativity: a pat on the back, a compliment, a joke.

According to the PS4 chart, Grand Theft Auto V maintained its position as Europe’s fourth most popular game last month. The game climbed one spot, from sixth to fifth, on the charts in North America. More PS5s have been released into the wild in the past month, which may explain the uptick in downloads.
To be included in the PS4 chart, Red Dead 2 must be played on the PS4. It peaked at 3rd on the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States and Canada and 6th in Europe. A month ago, it ranked sixth in both areas.

On Friday, GfK announced through gamesindustry.biz the results of their January 2023 survey of video game sales in the United Kingdom. The report contains some exciting takeaways concerning GTA V and RDR2.
To begin, video game sales in January 2023 totaled just over 2 million units, down slightly from the same month the year before. Sales of both Grand Theft Auto 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2 increased in March compared to the same month a year ago, despite the industry-wide downturn.
Even if Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption 2 didn’t sell as well as last year, their positions on the charts are impressive. In the United Kingdom in January of 2023, GTA V was the second best-selling video game, behind only FIFA 23.
The release of Pokemon Legends: Arceus in January 2019 moved this year’s ranking up from 2022. In addition, the game will advance two spots in the rankings beginning in December 2022.
