Is Injustice 3 being developed by NetherRealm Studios? Many fighting game enthusiasts are uncertain about the genre’s future in the wake of the Warner Bros. Discovery merger, and this is one of the biggest concerns in the community.

No one can deny the insatiable demand for more DC Comics fighting games from Warner Bros., and many loose ends were left after Injustice 2. While we know that NeatherRealm Studios has been working on something new since July 2021, when the studio declared it would no longer be providing updates or bug fixes for Mortal Kombat 11, the nature of this “next project” is still unclear.

It has also been speculated that a Marvel fighting game is in the works. Given the number of studios collaborating with Marvel Games on new products, this is not the strangest idea. We’ll go ahead and presume. Injustice 3 is next; if you’re interested in learning more about this rumored project, you’ve come to the right spot.

A file with the name “MK12 Mast” was visible on his screen, as noticed by keen admirers. The Great Merger Debate: Warner Bros and Discovery’s Future Uncertain

Friday, August 21, 2021 – Fans were probably expecting a new Injustice game to be developed following Mortal Kombat 11 and with good reason. That’s partly due to NetherRealm’s habit of switching back and forth between the series, as we’ve discussed before. However, this may soon change, as reported by VentureBeat’s Jeff Grubb.

Grubb stated on the Giant Bomb podcast that NetherRealm changed projects or maybe abandoned all prospects of working on an Injustice 3 project due to the continued uncertainty surrounding Warner Brothers Games and the Merger with Discovery.

The most logical choice would be Mortal Kombat 12, a game they already know would earn money and sell well. This is consistent with both reality and what I’ve heard. Grubb predicted that the success of Mortal Kombat 11 would be repeated with the release of Mortal Kombat 12.

However, “if you attempt to get rid of NetherRealm or sell it to somebody, you don’t have to use any of these Batman or Superman characters that might be locked up in licensing.”

Star Citizen’s Release Date Remains a Mystery

Like the whereabouts of Half-Life 3, the fate of Silent Hill Release date, or the arrival of a new Starfield video, the release date of Star Citizen remains a mystery. The space simulation and the trading game are still in alpha as of the latest release (3.17.2), but it has already raised over $500 million through crowdfunding.

Star Citizen’s official site, Roberts Space Industries (named after one of the in-game firms that make spaceships), keeps track of how much money has been donated to the game and how many people are playing it at once.

Star Citizen raised almost half a billion dollars when it appeared on Kickstarter in October 2012, about ten years ago. As of September 20, that sum crossed the galactic USD 500,030,039 threshold. The most recent patch made the game playable and added new ships, destinations, and delivery missions.

Star Citizen has been updated regularly since before its launch, but fans still wait for the game’s final release. New planets, ships, and activities for the game’s open-world sandbox mode will be introduced in Star Citizen’s upcoming 3.18 and 3.19 alpha updates, which are expected to drop in the third and fourth quarters of 2022, respectively.

Forspoken will be available for the Personal Computer (PC) and a limited period, the PlayStation 5 (PS5). Before today’s announcement, it was unclear how long the game would be restricted to PS5, but as of January 23, 2025, that question has been answered.

Exploring the Role of the Tantas in Forspoken’s Story

Early trailers for Forspoken made a point of establishing the “Tantas” as the game’s primary adversaries. Tanta Sila, “the strongest and most formidable of all the Tantas,” is the final boss Frey must face. The Tantas…what are they, and why does Frey have to fight them?

The PlayStation Blog published an entry explaining the Tantas’ villainous reputation. There is the legend that the realm of Athia, where Forspoken takes place, was once ruled by a council of good sorcerers known as the Tantas. All of the Tanta were women who shared the burden of society’s smooth functioning.

However, the once-wise and well-liked Tantas suddenly became cruel tyrants, and they also appeared to stop working together with the rest of Athia’s populace. Tanta Prav, introduced in the second Forspoken trailer, appears even more unstable than Sila. This meeting seems to culminate in a boss battle between Fray and Prav.

For reasons that aren’t entirely clear, the Tantas view Fray as a threat. Perhaps it’s because the people of Athia perceive her as a potential savior, and she has the power to fight the Tantas. However, we believe that the Tanta is merely the public face of a more sinister, hidden enemy.

Before the ‘Break,’ Sila commanded Athia’s army, earning him the nickname “Tanta of Strength.” This event may have been the catalyst for Sila’s transformation into an authoritarian military leader. Before the Split, Prav was a judge-like entity known as the “Tanta of Justice.”

While Prav used to be kind, he has evolved into “A ruthless executioner with a perverted sense of justice.” When new details on the Tantas and the other Forspoken characters become available, we’ll share them with you. Most notably, we’re interested in how their descriptions of the characters will affect the game’s mechanics and the boss’s fights.

Bungie plans to further streamline some of these procedures by providing players with more ways to earn new and old gear directly from the dealers. Lightfall, the upcoming significant addition for Destiny 2 Lightfall, is the second-to-last part of the story arc that began with The Taken King and will conclude with The Final Shape. Traveling to Neptune, players will investigate Neomuna.

In this hidden city, a subset of mankind has prospered in the wake of the Collapse and managed to dodge the various conflicts which have overtaken the rest of the Sol System. Additionally, the Guardians will have to use the new Darkness power of Strand to assist in protecting Neomuna from an invasion headed by The Witness’s latest student, Emperor Calus.

In its recent blog post, which followed up on the previous one explaining Lightfall’s loadout and build crafting modifications, Bungie took gamers on a deep dive into vendor prizes and engram concentrating.

The studio began by discussing the changes they made to the Vanguard’s reputations and rewards, specifically how Commander Zavala now rewards Vanguard engrams that are focused on in the same way that Crucible and Gambit engrams are concentrated on by purchasing them from their respective activity vendors.

In addition to the Vanguard playlist weapons and armour, Zavala will have access to a new set of Nightfall weapons that can be focused on independently. A rotating weapon that varies depending on which adept is available in that week’s Grandmaster Nightfall will be available to players who have already acquired the weapons at least once.

You can also choose from a variety of Nightfall heritage weapons that can be focused, although none of them will have an adept variant. Legacy equipment is available from the Vanguard and the Crucible, Gambit, Trials of Osiris, and Iron Banner vendors as of Season 20.

Legacy weapons and armor will be listed, allowing players enough to hunt to round their collections or farm for god rolls. It adds to the already plentiful variety of treasures available as of Season of the Seraph, albeit it doesn’t consider the possibility of crafted weapons in Lightfall or Season 20. Currently, you may buy Destiny 2 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.

After The Day Before’s strange release date delay, rumored to be the result of a trademark dispute, creator Fntastic responded to claims that the game is fake. Many people have been interested in the zombie survival MMO The Day Before ever since it was announced, but the developers haven’t revealed much in actual gameplay.

This has led to speculation that The Day Before isn’t actually or won’t deliver as advertised. The newest postponement of The Day Before’s publication only fueled the fire. The publication of Fntastic’s The Day Before has been delayed from March until November 10.

The trademark issue over the game’s name was cited as the reason for the delay in the release date and the lack of a new gameplay video. According to Fntastic, someone else got The Day Before trademark before it could, and now it’s working with its legal team on addressing the matter.

In light of this, The Day Before has been withdrawn from Steam, and the community has turned chiefly against the project. Fntastic told IGN that it is “unpleasant to hear such charges,” referring to the speculation that The Day Before isn’t genuinely being worked on.

Fntastic reiterated its trust in the game, saying, “We solely believe in the end product. On November 10 of this year, you can judge for yourself notwithstanding what anyone says.” The Day Before trademark problem was also addressed by Fntastic, who stated that the release date change had been planned before the dispute arose.

The trademark issue also threw a kink into plans to release a 10-minute gameplay video of The Day Before alongside the release date postponement. The latest demo for The Day Before was shown at CES 2023 as part of Nvidia’s GeForce Beyond presentation, showcasing the game’s ray-tracing features.

For the uninitiated, Abandoned is rumored to be a horror game in development for PlayStation 5 (Jailbroken). It received much-deserved attention from PlayStation in the form of a blog post on the official PlayStation Blog.

The game Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League looked like a contender for Game of the Year last year when it was included in our Big in 2022 roundup. Rocksteady Studios revealed at the Game Awards in November 2018 that their post-Batman Arkham action role-playing superhero endeavor would premiere in 2023, with a delayed release date of May 26.

Nonetheless, I’m happy to report that Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League still has all the makings of a Game of the Year contender, albeit having a bit more time in the oven than initially expected. For me, it’s because the game appears to be typical Rocksteady fare: frenetic yet controlled, packed to the rafters with boundless vitality.

However, Kill the Justice League seems to inject new levels of fun into proceedings, giving the whole product some unparalleled dark comedic value, making it stand out from the studios’ past Caped Crusader capers. It has never been wrong that the Batman Arkham series took itself seriously.

However, when games in the same genre today fail to reach the same moody heights as Rocksteady’s previous outings 14 years ago, some light relief in the form of unhinged antiheroes from the creator who does superhero hijinks best is most welcome.

Kill the Justice League puts us in the role of one of the villains, such as Harley Quinn, King Shark, Deadshot, or Captain Boomerang, and gives us the mission of eliminating the titular superhero team, which in this version includes The Flash, Green Lantern, Superman, Wonder Woman, and Batman.

From what we’ve seen of the game, that primarily entails wreaking havoc on Metropolis and beating up hordes of Brainiac’s minions.
