Future action-adventure game Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is being created by Respawn Entertainment and will be distributed by Electronic Arts. Release dates have been set for March 17, 2023, for PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S. It is the sequel to Star Wars: Jedi: Fallen Order (2019).

Star Wars: Jedi Survivor’s release date is March 17, 2023. Journalist Jeff Grubb’s assertions that he had covered the game, including the title before it was officially released gave validity to the theory that March 2023 is the intended release date.

This was announced in December during the Game Awards, where a new teaser showed off even more of the game and revealed its scheduled release date.

Due to the pandemic’s likely impact on the development schedule, the game may not be ready in time. Not that this would be the first game to be delayed past its original release window.

The launch platforms for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is the Xbox One X, Xbox One S, PlayStation 5, and personal computers. Respawn Entertainment has decided to build this game exclusively for current-gen consoles so they can push the graphical fidelity higher, therefore players who are still playing on older devices like the Xbox One and PS4 will have to update to continue Cal’s journey (and presumably reduce the number of platforms they need to work across).

The Last Jedi Standing: A Story of Survival

According to details given by Respawn Entertainment alongside the game’s formal announcement, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor takes place five years after the events of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. Cal, still feeling the burden of being one of the last remaining Jedi in the galaxy, must stay one step ahead of the Empire’s relentless pursuit.

Cal Kestis’s fight with Darth Vader at the end of the first game is one of the game’s most iconic moments. After narrowly escaping the confrontation with his life, Cal must make the ultimate decision: use the Holocron data to rebuild the Jedi Order by revealing the locations of force-sensitive children across the galaxy, or destroy it to prevent any more children from being sacrificed to the whims of the Empire or forced to become inquisitors.

The second game can take several different paths based on the first events. Having been knighted by Cere, Cal must now investigate his force potential to rein in his Dark Side visions and impulses. Cere, who has recently allowed the Force back into her consciousness, must decide whether to join the fight against the Empire as one of the last remaining Jedi or to live in hiding.

Based on the two teasers, we can assume that Cal and his group are on the run. After evading Vader, they set out to see what else the galaxy offers while constantly looking over their shoulders. One of Cal’s lightsabers is shown in the hands of what looks to be a Pau’an in the first teaser trailer.

Since we subsequently see Cal fighting an unknown figure with a red saber, and he only uses one blade, this could hint that in the sequel, Cal will only use one edge for most of the game. The trailer’s biggest enigma is the white-skinned man or woman that Cal discovers in a Bacta tank.

The man in question has long white hair and doesn’t seem connected to any significant legacy characters; they are likely original creations for this story. Does the name of the game allude to the actual “Survivor”?

Since it has never been determined how many Jedi were spared during the purge of Order 66, the canon is free to introduce new Jedi at any point; this might be somebody who fights alongside Cal or someone who has turned to the dark side and is Cal’s opponent in the teaser.

Star Wars: Will the Jedi Outlast Darth Vader’s Return?

You can bet that the formidable Sith Lord will send his entire army after the crew now that he knows Cere and Cal survived. The trailer gives us a fleeting sight of a shadowy figure carrying a red lightsaber. It’s unclear whether this individual is an inquisitor or another Sith Lord.

While the Rule of Two might indicate that this is not a Sith Lord, we will find out for sure very soon. In addition, the identity of the individual in the Bacta tank remains a mystery.

Amigo or foe? So far, there has been no indication that Darth Vader will appear in Jedi Survivor; however, his appearance in the first game, Jedi: Fallen Order, was similarly concealed until after launch, with only a brief teaser of his trademark breath sound appearing in the video. After what he did to us last time, I think it’s best if Cal stays away from him.

Tchia is an open-world video game about a girl who travels around a tropical archipelago in the Pacific Ocean. It is bright and colorful and has a relaxed, natural feel. At first, I was intrigued by Tchia, thanks to a hands-off preview of Kepler Interactive’s Gamescom lineup from the previous year.

However, I didn’t appreciate the game’s charm until I got to try it out for myself. Tchia is a liberating open-world game similar to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Elden Ring, and Sable. Players are dropped into a series of stunning Pacific islands and given the means to travel between them via climbing, gliding, owning animals and things, and sailing.

Even more so, the experience is elevated by its in-depth familiarity with and reverence for the culture it symbolizes. Uncovering the mystery of Tchia

Open-world game Tchia follows a little girl (also named Tchia) as she searches for her missing father in a Pacific island chain modeled after New Caledonia. Players may soul-jump into a wide variety of animals and objects, and they have the stamina to climb buildings and trees, swing from them, and even swim, dive, and sail throughout the islands.

Each of these adds a new layer of gameplay depth that Tchia may use to expand her exploration options and advance her through problems. During my preview, I got to play some of the game’s critical story missions, in which Tchia makes friends with a young girl and explores one of the game’s largest islands, achieving numerous tasks and even seeking treasure.

There wasn’t a ton of depth to the story in the parts I played, but the gameplay was excellent. Even though I was on a mission, I found it just as entertaining to climb a tree close to the town’s origin and launch Tchia into a glide so that we could cover more ground.

This allowed me to let go of my glide and try new things, like performing acrobatics in the air or transforming my spirit into an animal. When you’re on Tchia, you’ll feel like you’ve got everything you need to make the world your oyster.

Aside from that, I forgot that you’re also a talented ukulele player. Tchia is unique in that it has a fully functional ukulele. During my demo, I could play the ukulele at any moment, and there were a few points in the story where I had to keep time with Tchia as she sang a particular song.

You can perform whatever you like, but some melodies unlock special features à la The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. The effects of these songs vary, from making it night or day to granting Tchia the ability to breathe underwater indefinitely as a bonus.

Tchia: The Open World Game You Didn’t Know You Needed

Even while I’ve used a crab to solve problems in adventure games before, I don’t think I’ve ever actually become a crab to do so. True, but that’s what I do in the open-world adventure beta. When I see a chain that needs to be severed, I use Tchia.

I grabbed a crab off the beach and threw it in my bag earlier. Now I “soul jump” into it, having essentially possessed the crab after removing it from its shell and placing it on the ground. Then, I creep over to the chain and utilize its newfound pincers to cut it in half.

Then I transfer back into my human body, grab the crab, and put it back in my knapsack. Neato. That’s one of the many practical uses for soul-jumping magic in Tchia, Awaceb’s open-world RPG. The game’s aesthetic was influenced by the island of New Caledonia, located in the southwestern Pacific Ocean, where the company’s founders spent their formative years.

While it may seem to limit only to being able to explore a third of a game area at a time, the island I am now on is surprisingly large, considering I am only playing the beta. It’s also aesthetically pleasing, a lush, tropical environment full of beaches, forests, mountains, rivers, villages, camps, hidden caves, and deep tunnels.

In addition, the area is home to a wide variety of stunning animals, including land mammals like deer and boar, reptiles like lizards and birds, and marine creatures like fish, sharks, and sea turtles.

Steam was a year old when Half-Life 2 came out, but my dad and I didn’t bother with it because of its military green color. This was the scariest level but also the one that could be introduced to a child with the slightest difficulty. However, I grew up in a household where slasher movies were regular fare. My father took my brother and me to the movies weekly, and he would repeatedly play the same scary movies, like Alien and Evil Dead (Fortnite).

By comparison, Ravenholm’s gut-wrenching difficulties were a cakewalk. You’re given a new tool at the outset—the gravity gun—and the whole level serves as a giant playground where you can experiment. Zombies can be killed with various household items, including paint cans, explosive barrels, and sawblades.

As a kid, I used to constantly repeat the level and play it from beginning to end, attempting different strategies for defeating each opponent, which took away from the overall fright factor. Once I figured out how to use the gravity gun to shove headcrabs until they passed out, I stopped worrying about them getting away.

Then I learned how many bruising poison zombies could be taken out with a simple wooden box. I have forgotten the correct response, but I recall passing away more often than is comfortable.

After a while, I had seen every last sight and done every last activity in Ravenholm. Fortunately, my father had discovered (or, more likely, researched online) a change-level command flaw that allowed him to reintroduce the blue gravity cannon from the game’s conclusion into earlier stages.

The blue gravity gun is an upgraded version of the standard black one, allowing the user to rip larger objects off walls and kill foes with a single grab. You can no longer use the crowbar or any other weapon because this is the only means of bringing down the Citadel from within once you have it.

Imagine how strong it would feel in a town full of zombies, given how effective it is against the Combine’s human empire’s nerve center. Although I recall feeling unstoppable, I don’t remember efficiently eradicating my enemies and adversaries.

Instead, I recognize that it could make cloned corpses of indestructible NPCs, which you could throw around everywhere and have the living NPCs ignore your actions and carry on with their predetermined scripts as if nothing had occurred.

It was the same kind of gallows humor I found amusing in the original Half-Life when I would sneak in trip mines and scatter them throughout the pre-disaster areas. It had returned, but with a new powerplant.

It’s fun to comb over the nearly two decades’ worth of memories I’ve made while playing Half-Life 2—I do so at least twice a year. Even though I remember the opening, City 17, G-Man, Barney dropping the crowbar, and the boat level, Ravenholm is the most memorable because of my associations with it, the constant reboots, and the different ways in which I was challenged to conclude.

Even though I’m sure it drove my father crazy to see my stall out on Nova Prospekt and the later levels, I’m glad I didn’t know because, to this day, the sound of a far-off crow and the low hum that creeps in as you take that first step still gives me the chills.

At the PlayStation 5 reveal event, Capcom revealed Resident Evil 8, a next-generation survival horror game exclusive to PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X. For months, fans of Resident Evil 8 on PS4 and Xbox One assumed they would need to update to newer hardware because Capcom never mentioned a last-gen version of the game.

Since then, however, we know such is not the case. Capcom announced Resident Evil 8 (Village) for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One during their January 21 showcase event. Resident Evil 8 will also launch simultaneously for PS4, Xbox One, PS5, and Xbox Series X. On its May 7 release date, Resident Evil 8 will be playable by players without the means to purchase the latest platforms.

Capcom reassures those who prefer to wait for the next-gen release that they can upgrade to the current version at no cost. Anyone who purchases Resident Evil 8 digitally on PS4 will receive the PS5 version at no additional charge.

At the same time, those who buy it for Xbox One can play the Xbox Series (Exclusive) X version through the Smart Delivery service. Those who believe Resident Evil 8 for an older console will be able to experience the improvements made for the next-gen version at no additional cost.

The original expansion is still my favorite, with its fascinating story and one of the best villains I’ve ever seen in a game. There’s no pressing need for a brand-new zone here; Night City has plenty of unused space that could be improved with additional missions and characters.

According to the latest Genshin Impact leak, three playable characters may have their banners recycled in the upcoming update 3.5. HoYoverse has recently increased the frequency of reruns as the roster of playable characters has grown.

Beyond the Usual: ‘Wild Hearts’ Reimagines Monster Hunting

Omega Force, owned by Koei Tecmo, is most known for its Warriors series (Dynasty Warriors, Hyrule Warriors, etc.). Still, the studio’s upcoming project, Monster Hunter, sees it return to a genre it dabbled in half a decade ago with Toukiden.

Electronic Arts’ Wild Hearts is a spinoff of the Monster Hunter genre that adds tower defense elements and pits players against monstrous animals their natural habitats have altered.
