  • Is The War Effort Stalled? Helldivers 2 Faces “Minor Outage” In Tracking Progress

Is The War Effort Stalled? Helldivers 2 Faces “Minor Outage” In Tracking Progress

Helldivers 2 troops are busy working on a mission to defend ten planets from bugs and bots. However, a technical problem has hit the game’s systems, causing a minor outage.

The game’s developer, Arrowhead Studios, explained that a long-range array was destroyed on Vernon Wells, causing this issue. Because of this, players might not see their progress properly tracked during the current game event.

This outage is especially inconvenient because the game is intentionally making things harder for players during this phase. However, the developers are working to fix the problem and adjust the game systems to help players in the future.

The studio also mentioned the challenges of running an ongoing game like Helldivers 2, where they have to add new content while also fixing any issues to keep the game exciting and relevant.

  • Manor Lords: Don’t Expect A Total War Rival, Says Dev Before Early Access

Manor Lords: Don’t Expect A Total War Rival, Says Dev Before Early Access

Launching a game can be risky, especially when it’s highly anticipated like Manor Lords, which has over two million wishlists on Steam.

The developer, Slavic Games, is preparing for the game’s upcoming release on Steam Early Access by addressing potential issues that may arise when such a popular game finally launches.

Manor Lords puts you in the role of a medieval lord overseeing the growth of a village into a city. You’ll manage resources, build armies, and engage in tactical battles, blending city-building with real-time strategy and a touch of medieval life simulation. This unique mix of genres has prompted Slavic Games to clarify what Manor Lords is and isn’t.

Greg, the sole developer, wants players to know that Manor Lords is not a competitor to games like Total War or Age of Empires. It’s primarily a city builder with battles, focusing more on slower-paced city management rather than large-scale conquests or fast-paced real-time strategy.

Greg emphasizes that Manor Lords is not an RPG and won’t feature first-person gameplay. The game is about being a Manor Lord, not an expansive empire ruler or a rapid strategy commander.

It’s common for highly anticipated games to face disappointment due to players’ high expectations. Slavic Games’ effort to manage expectations and provide context for Manor Lords is refreshing in an industry often driven solely by hype and numbers.

Regarding the Early Access launch, Greg mentions that Manor Lords won’t have a detailed roadmap for future updates initially. Instead, updates will be based on player feedback and demand, ensuring that development efforts align closely with what the community wants.

Manor Lords will debut on Steam Early Access on Friday, April 26. Players can wishlist the game on Steam to stay updated and prepare for its release.

Darkest Dungeon II Coming To PlayStation On July 15th

Red Hook Studios will release the turn-based roguelike RPG Darkest Dungeon II for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 on July 15.

The game will be priced at $39.99, and there’s also a bundle available for $44.99 that includes the downloadable content “The Binding Blade.” Pre-orders are open now on the PlayStation Store.

Darkest Dungeon II originally came out in Early Access for PC on Steam and Epic Games Store on October 26, 2021, and had its full release on May 8, 2023.

Tyler Sigman, the design director at Red Hook Studios, said, “We’re excited to bring Darkest Dungeon II to PlayStation players.

The game feels great with the DualSense Controller, allowing us to add details like feeling a hero’s heartbeat when they’re close to death or the rumble of the stagecoach’s wheels hitting a trap. Darkest Dungeon I had a strong community on PlayStation, and we hope the sequel will be just as popular.”

  • WoW: The War Within – A Boon For Solo Adventurers, Says Blizzard!

WoW: The War Within – A Boon For Solo Adventurers, Says Blizzard!

We’ve spent a lot of time playing World of Warcraft over the years. We’ve leveled up characters, gone on raids, explored dungeons, and even just hung out in places like Orgrimmar watching other players.

It’s a huge time commitment. As you get older and have more responsibilities, it becomes harder to spend as much time in the game as you used to.

    WoW The War Within
    WoW The War Within

We talked to Holly Longdale, WoW’s executive producer, about how the next expansion aims to make things easier for solo players who don’t have a lot of time to play. While World of Warcraft has always been a multiplayer game, it can be challenging if you prefer playing by yourself.

The new features in the upcoming expansion, like Follower Dungeons, NPC companions, and Warbands, are designed to help casual players access content more easily. We asked if WoW was moving away from its MMO roots with these changes.

“At its core, WoW is still a multiplayer game, and that’s our priority,” says Longdale. “But over time, we’ve noticed that not everyone can dedicate hours every day or week to the game.” Blizzard looked at player data and realized that solo players, who often focus on leveling content, haven’t received as much attention compared to raiders or PvPers.

The new expansion, The War Within, aims to change that by giving solo players more opportunities to try different kinds of content. “We haven’t served them well in the past, so it’s time to do better,” explains Longdale. “We want to give them a chance to do activities like Delve with a family member or friend. It’s a valid way to play, and we want to support it.”

As someone who’s been playing WoW for a long time and now has limited time, I’m glad to hear that the game is becoming more accessible for players like me.

World of Warcraft is about to enter its third decade, and it’s great to see that Blizzard is recognizing that many players have jobs and responsibilities that limit their game time.

If you’re excited about the next steps for World of Warcraft, our guide to the release date of WoW: The War Within will give you all the information you need. We also had the opportunity to preview the expansion in our WoW: The War Within Alpha preview, so check it out to see what we thought!

  • Destiny 2: The Final Shape Raid Launch Time And All The Revealed Details

Destiny 2: The Final Shape Raid Launch Time And All The Revealed Details

Bungie has announced when the new raid activity will start in The Final Shape, and it’s happening sooner than expected. Let’s go over what we know about this exciting PvE event.

Destiny 2: The Final Shape Raid Launch Time

The Final Shape raid will start on June 7, 2024, at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET. This is earlier than usual because Bungie usually waits about a week and a half after releasing an expansion to launch a raid.

You’ll have just three days to prepare for this raid, which will include facing the Prism subclass and a new faction called the Dread inside the Traveler.

Destiny 2: The Final Shape Raid Story and Updates

Apart from confirming the release date, Bungie is keeping quiet about the story of the new raid. Raids in Destiny 2 usually bring new challenges after the main campaign, and with The Final Shape hinting at a big showdown with The Witness, we’re curious to see which enemy will be waiting for players at the end of the Light and Darkness saga.

There are different possibilities—this raid might follow The Taken King expansion and have players face The Witness in its strongest form, similar to how Oryx was defeated at the peak of his power in the Ascendant Realm.

Xivu Arath is another possibility for this raid, a dangerous figure who has been a lingering threat since being separated from her Throne World in Season of the Witch. Destiny 2’s roadmap also suggests that the Hive god of war will come to challenge players after The Final Shape.

The Final Shape will also bring quality-of-life updates, especially focusing on improving the clan system in Destiny 2. Hawthorne, the clan vendor, will have a reputation track where Guardians can earn clan reputation by completing activities.

Clan bounties will be updated with two new types—one for seasonal content and one for dungeons—and all clan bounties will reward clan reputation. For established teams, it’s a good idea to visit Hawthorne and grab these bounties before heading into the raid.

Additionally, clan perks will be refreshed, granting players discounts on Raid Banners, Exotic engrams, and more each week when they complete a fresh raid run.

  • Dragonsplagued No More! Dragon’s Dogma 2 Update Brings Relief

Dragonsplagued No More! Dragon’s Dogma 2 Update Brings Relief

Dragon’s Dogma 2 is getting another update this month, and it brings good news for players worried about their Pawns getting dragonsplague. This mysterious illness affects the game’s customizable NPCs, making them turn violent over time. The update aims to make dragonsplague less common and easier to notice when Pawns are infected.

Dragonsplague causes Pawns’ eyes to glow, indicating they’re infected. But it can be hard to see this in the game, especially since their eyes only glow sometimes. The update will make the signs of dragonsplague more noticeable, like making glowing eyes easier to see.

Additionally, the update will let players zoom in on the faces of characters to check for signs of dragonsplague more easily. This should make it simpler to manage this aspect of the game.

Apart from these changes, the update focuses on improving Pawn behavior. Pawns will talk less often, their statements will reflect game events better, and they’ll be less likely to fall off cliffs. There are also fixes for issues like players getting jailed during monster fights in towns and adjustments to the minimap to remove acquired treasure chests.

Unfortunately, the update doesn’t address the game’s performance issues, which involve heavy CPU usage due to complex character simulations. Capcom, the game’s developer, is still working on improving this aspect.

Despite these issues, Dragon’s Dogma 2 remains a great game, even though it has a mixed rating on Steam due to its performance problems.

  • Destiny 2’s Hot New Hand Cannon Has A Surprising Flaw

Destiny 2’s Hot New Hand Cannon Has A Surprising Flaw

According to Light GG, many players are using the Kinetic Tremors perk on Midnight Coup, with almost 1 out of 5 players choosing it. However, this doesn’t mean it’s the best choice. In reality, Kinetic Tremors isn’t very effective on Midnight Coup and has limited usefulness.

Destiny 2's Hot New Hand Cannon
Destiny 2’s Hot New Hand Cannon

Kinetic Tremors is a perk that causes damaging shockwaves after hitting enemies multiple times. It can deal good damage and help clear out additional enemies, but it’s not the most practical choice for Midnight Coup. This is because it takes six shots with a Hand Cannon like Midnight Coup to activate the perk.

If you’re shooting one enemy six times with a Hand Cannon, it’s probably better to switch to a different type of weapon. By that point, the enemy is likely too tough for Midnight Coup, and other weapons would be more effective.

Kinetic Tremors works better on weapons like Scout Rifles or Sidearms, especially in challenging content like Grandmaster Nightfalls. Scout Rifles can deal damage from a safe distance, and Sidearms are good for handling Barrier Champions due to the Season of the Wish’s artifact.

Overall, while Kinetic Tremors can be useful in specific situations, it’s not the best choice for Midnight Coup. Other perks like Frenzy and Rampage generally work better. If you’re among the 19.8% of Destiny 2 players using Kinetic Tremors on Midnight Coup, you might want to think about trying a different perk.

  • Henry’s Back! Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Doubles Down On Size, Adds Firearms In 2024

Henry’s Back! Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Doubles Down On Size, Adds Firearms In 2024

Warhorse Studios has finally revealed Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, the sequel to the popular medieval RPG. The game continues the story of Henry, a peasant-turned-knight, and his friend Hans, as they navigate a civil war in 15th century Bohemia.

The first game was unique because it focused on realistic medieval life without magic. Players enjoyed the challenging combat system, where precise movements and strategy were crucial to winning duels.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 will keep this intense first-person combat, aiming to make players feel like they are really in battle.

In the sequel, ranged combat gets an upgrade with the addition of crossbows and early firearms. This means players can now use lead and bolts to attack enemies. The new weapons look powerful in the reveal trailer, but they might be slow and require careful handling, staying true to the game’s realistic style.

Warhorse Studios has grown significantly since the first game, with a much larger team working on the sequel.

They promise a game world that is twice as big as the original, including impressive new areas like the city of Kuttenberg. The story is also expanded with five hours of cutscenes, delving into kings and civil war.

Despite the epic scale, developers aim to preserve the charm of the original game. Players loved dealing with local issues and enjoying playful moments like swimming and joking with friends.

The sequel still allows players to shape Henry’s character through choices in appearance, skills, and morality.

The quest system might be more complex this time, with a larger map to explore. While this might seem overwhelming, the beautiful forests and landscapes of Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 promise exciting adventures.

Warhorse plans to release Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 before the end of the year, much to the excitement of fans eager to reunite with Henry and Hans.

  • Shear Nonsense! Steam City-Builder Scrambles To Fix Sheep-Powered Money Machine

Shear Nonsense! Steam City-Builder Scrambles To Fix Sheep-Powered Money Machine

The developer of Manor Lords, a highly anticipated city-building game on Steam, had to make a last-minute change to how sheep work in the game to avoid players exploiting the economy.

Manor Lords is set to launch next week and has gained a lot of attention, with over 2.5 million wishlists on Steam. As the developer, Greg Styczen prepares for the early access release, some players who got early access found ways to make unlimited money using sheep.

By breeding lots of sheep and selling their wool, players could make huge profits easily.

Styczen doesn’t mind the idea of infinite money in the game, as it’s realistic that sheep can produce lots of wool. However many players pointed out that this could be exploited by exporting too much wool, so he decided to add a last-minute change.

    Read more:

Now, wool is in such oversupply globally that it’s no longer profitable to export it from your city. This change makes sense historically, as countries wouldn’t keep buying something abundant everywhere.

We’re still waiting to see how this change will affect other resources and the game’s early-access players. There’s talk about whether this should be an optional feature due to the extra management it requires, but Styczen suggests it could lead to interesting events like a sudden increase in wool demand during a cold winter, making sheep valuable again.

  • Helldivers 2: From Automatons To Annihilation – 2 Billion Terminids Next!

Helldivers 2: From Automatons To Annihilation – 2 Billion Terminids Next!

The newest Helldivers 2 Major Order is here, and it’s a big challenge: players need to defeat two billion Terminids in just about six days.

Today, on April 18, Arrowhead started a new phase of Helldivers 2’s Galactic War. Players are tasked with wiping out two billion Terminids worldwide. It sounds like a huge number, but they have six days to get it done.

Helldivers 2 Players Spot Warbond Armor
Helldivers 2 Players Spot Warbond Armor

The in-game Major Order says, “The Automaton invasion has slowed down, so we need to restock our reserves and prepare to fight back.” Helldivers 2 players have been battling against the Automaton enemies since earlier this month, and this new order comes after pushing them back from several planets.

Less than an hour after the order was given, players had already defeated 100 million Terminids. To meet the goal, they’ll need to beat around 400 million Terminids every day. At this rate, they’re doing well.

Right now, players can fight on three Terminid planets: Estanu, Hellmire, and Oshaune. The number of Terminids on a planet can change based on how many Super Earth soldiers are there, so players need to make sure they have enough planets to fight on before reaching the two billion goals.

However, developer Arrowhead might throw surprises during the Major Order, as they did in the past with Game Master Joel stopping the mech rollout during an Automaton attack. So, it might not be smooth sailing all the way through.

  • “Roll With It Or Trash It?” – Overwatch 2’s Wrecking Ball Guru Dismisses New Tank Ability

“Roll With It Or Trash It?” – Overwatch 2’s Wrecking Ball Guru Dismisses New Tank Ability

In Season 10, Wrecking Ball got some updates with changes to his abilities like Grappling Claw, Adaptive Shields, and Minefield.

The main change was to his shields, which can now be shared with teammates to give them extra health.

At first, this seemed like a good fit for dive compositions, where heroes like Tracer and Genji can benefit from the extra durability. But just a day after the update, players like AWW YEAH weren’t too excited about it.

He mentioned that when he dives in and uses his shields, teammates might not always take advantage of the extra health, which can leave Wrecking Ball vulnerable.

AWW YEAH suggested that the shields should last longer to be more useful, especially since they only last for a short time right now. He also pointed out that the ability requires a direct line of sight (LOS) and doesn’t work through enemy shields, which makes it tricky to use effectively.

However, he did praise the improved Grappling Claw movement, calling it “insane” and possibly needing a slight nerf.

It’s still early in Season 10, so we’ll have to wait and see how the gameplay develops, especially with the addition of the new hero Venture and buffs to Lifeweaver.

The NEW Warzone King? MW3 SMG Makes Enemies DISAPPEAR With Crazy TTK

No matter what changes are made to Warzone, SMGs (Submachine Guns) remain a reliable choice for firepower in the battle royale. Usually, SMGs are best for close-range combat, but some of them can perform well even at longer distances.

One such SMG gaining attention is the Striker 9. According to Warzone expert WhosImmortal, this gun stands out due to its versatility. WhosImmortal highlighted the Striker 9 in a recent video discussing SMGs, especially since some others have been weakened by updates.

WhosImmortal described the Striker 9 as “really easy to use” with a particular build, making it effective not only at close range but also in mid-range combat. He predicted that more players would start using the Striker 9 this season.

The YouTuber praised the Striker 9 for its “ridiculously good” performance and its ability to deal “great” damage even beyond 40 meters. He mentioned that the Striker 9’s Time-to-Kill (TTK) is around 850 milliseconds at that range.

Here is the recommended build for the Striker 9:

    • Muzzle: ZEHMN35 Compensated Flash Hider
    • Barrel: Striker Recon Long Barrel
    • Optic: Nydar Model 2023
    • Magazine: 50-round drum
    • Stock: No Stock

  • Helldivers 2 Dev Dilemma: Fix The Old Or Forge Something New?

Helldivers 2 Dev Dilemma: Fix The Old Or Forge Something New?

Helldivers 2 has been popular lately, with lots of players enjoying the co-op shooter and its story. But there’s a problem – the game has many bugs and crashes, which can ruin the fun. The CEO of the game’s studio, Arrowhead Game Studios, explained why they keep adding new stuff while trying to fix these issues.

    Comment
    byu/TheGentlemanCEO from discussion
    inHelldivers

Players have been speaking up about the game’s problems on places like Discord and Reddit, and the CEO, Johan Pilestedt, is listening. He responded to a Reddit post about players’ complaints and admitted that fixing bugs while adding new content is tough for their small team. They want to do both because the game industry is very competitive.

The studio is trying hard to balance fixing problems with adding new features to keep the game exciting. But it’s a big challenge for a small team. Other game studios have faced similar issues, like Rainbow Six: Siege and Payday 3. Sometimes, they have to pause new content to focus on fixing the game.

Pilestedt knows the gaming industry is tough, and falling behind could hurt the game. Many players expect regular updates, and if they stop, players might leave. It’s hard for the developers.

Arrowhead is working to find a good balance. They might need more resources to manage everything well. The key is to support the developers who are working hard to make the game better.

In the end, making and maintaining a live service game like Helldivers 2 is challenging. Developers need time and support to find the right balance that works for them and keeps players happy.

Super Savings Or Super Cheating? Helldivers 2 Glitch Sparks Developer Response

Some Helldivers 2 players are using a glitch to get Super Credits unfairly, and the game’s developer, Arrowhead, is aware of this problem.

A player on the game’s official Discord reported the issue to Arrowhead. They mentioned that there are tutorials on YouTube explaining how to exploit the glitch to get Super Credits for free. The glitch involves quitting the game quickly or shutting down the console right after earning Super Credits, which lets players keep them without earning them properly.
